Parkville trucker killed in I-29 crash

The 56-year-old truck driver who died in accident with a paint truck on Interstate 29 in Atchison County was identified this morning as Kenneth J. Rich from Parkville.

The fatal accident occurred about 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Rich was driving his semi-tractor trailer northbound along I-29 about two miles north of Watson when he rear-ended a Ford flatbed truck that was painting highway lines, according the highway patrol.

Rich's truck jackknifed and blocked both lanes of northbound I-29. Rich, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the highway patrol.

The driver of the other truck, Joshua C. Dull, 23 of Quincy, Mo., had minor injuries and was taken to a hospital where he was treated and released.
