From Independence police 1:24 p.m.:
- The body found yesterday along I-70 at Noland Road has been identified as Kenny A Bevelot, 29 years old, of Dupo, IL. The injuries sustained to Mr. Bevelot were consistent with being struck by a large vehicle while he was walking along eastbound I-70.
- We have determined that the victim was visiting relatives in Independence and was staying at a nearby motel.
- The incident is being investigated as a hit and run traffic crash. We still have not located any witnesses and we are requesting anyone who may information regarding this incident to call the Independence Police Traffic Safety Unit at 816-325-7292 or the TIPS Hot Line 474-TIPS.
