From Kansas City police 10:10 a.m.:
- On today's date (Friday) October 28, 2005 at about 8:00am, KC Police Officers were dispatched to 127 West 10th street on a shooting. Officers arrived within minutes of the call and found a female crouched down near a male who was apparently suffering from a serious chest wound (later found to be a gunshot wound). Witnesses at the scene advised that the woman chased the man out of the Library Lofts West building while firing a handgun at him. The man fell to the sidewalk and the woman continued shooting him.
- The man was transported to an area hospital by MAST Ambulance where he died from his injuries. The woman (who was uninjured) was taken into custody. Two handguns were recovered at the scene. Identities of the victim and the suspect have not been released.
