"The b**** is in there on the floor"
Police have released this picture of nursing home patient Lewis E. Johnson, 54, charged Wednesday with stabbing a nurse 17 times at Senior Estates, 2323 E. Swope Parkway.
The victim, Vincetta M. Spero, 47, of Blue Springs, had worked at the home about six weeks, her father said.
(The quote in the headline appears in the probable cause statement of the charges against Johnson in Jackson County Circuit Court)

I was tempted to post this photo but I’ve had enough cherry picking for one day. That and I’m afraid if Karma exists one of my eyes will wonder off later in the day.
Anyway, in the past week I’ve been reading this blog, it seems like you’ve posted an inordinate amount of mugshots of Black men. In fact the single white guy you posted a few days ago is one of the few I’ve noticed. The generalization of Black men as criminals is a common phenomenon in the main stream media. Is The Star trying to contend that all of the crime in this city is committed by Black men? It seems that’s the message that’s implicit in your selection of mugshots. Or do you feel no need to offer a diversity of photos because your readers are mainly elderly and white and probably enjoy stereotyping minorities as criminals?
And before you get pithy; I’d welcome a few Latino mugshots. I love it when my family makes the paper.

nice comment about white elderly readers "enjoying" to sterotype. I think what the readers of the KC Star "enjoy" is justice being served to sick people like this guy who stabs nurses. Most people probably don't notice his color, just that he needs to spend the rest of his life in jail. Take some of your own advice Tony and quit pointing fingers. Why do you think the star is trying to contend "all" crime is done by black men? Grow up Tony.

Jeez Tony... the guy stabbed a nurse 17 times. Who cares what color he is?
So, are you saying that blacks aren't commiting most of the crimes in the KC area?

Crimes are being committed by all races. There isn't one race that is better than the other.. Crime is Crime, no matter who is committing it. Lets just clean it up around KC. I'm sick of hearing about crime.

I'm the nurse who was stabbed. YES, it was a race crime. I was the only white person working on the unit. I am not predjudice (I wouldn't of worked at that facilty if I was), but he didn't like me for that fact.
