- SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. (AP) — A dog owner was convicted of involuntary manslaughter Thursday for allowing her pit bulls to run loose and kill an 82-year-old woman.
- Deanna Large, 37, was found guilty in the death of Dorothy Sullivan, who was attacked March 8 by three pit bulls while she took her shih tzu for a walk.
A recent post, Was pit bull attack child abuse?, drew some comments, mostly from pit-bull owners.
(I've been meaning to get some pepper-spray or something. I walk my 65lb collie-chow baobao (Chinese for little treasure) every night, leashed of course, and she's no good with other dogs. Neighbor dog Nugget one night came running out and literally jumped in baobao's mouth. It was all I could do to get 'em apart. Nugget was unhurt. My biggest fear is a big dog, unleashed, that I can't separate from baobao.)
