Riverside judge steps down after arrest

From the Riverside City Administrator:

   Riverside Mayor Pro Tem Ray Beard announced this morning that Charles M. McKeon has resigned his position, which he has held since May 24, 1992, as the Riverside Municipal Court Judge.  This follows an incident which occurred on February 26th when Mr. McKeon was arrested by officers of the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.

It is about time. this has been coming for a while. thank goodness. we can now get back to normal.

What a relief for the community. it has been oppressive. thanks to the kc police dept.

NO more nights of the broken glass. How did this ever happen to our community? Praise the Lord.

Chuck McKeon is a pretty nice guy...I have seen him out at different functions where alcohol as being served and he never seemed like someone who couldn't hold his liquor. He was never visibly drunk or obnoxious. He was always very polite. Not sure what happened here but I hope he is able to get the help he needs and move on with his career and life.
