Leawood police were showing a new officer yesterday how to enter data in the department's computer system.
Naturally, the "test" data showed up in the report sent to media this morning:

The offenses on Ensley Lane are fictional. You can tell by the out-of-sequence report
numbers, said Major John Meier.
This is somewhat like the Boston Globe editor in 1980 who, over an editorial about President Carter, jokingly put the headline "Mush from the wimp." It got published, of course.
