KC police: Woman kidnapped, stabbed

Update 2: HE was arrested and taken to jail.
Update: SHE was found and taken to a hospital. Star story. From Capt. Lockhart:

  • Police have found Ms. Clevenger.  She was dropped off near her home on East 52nd at about 330 pm.  She has been transported to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries.  James Clevenger is still at large.  He is in an older white

    pick-up with an RV type camper shell on the back.  Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the TIPS hotline.

From Kansas City police 8:34 a.m.:

  • Kansas City police need help trying to locate Tammy L. Clevenger, white/female, 09/12/1968. At about 205 am this morning her estranged broke into her home in the 7600 Block of East 52nd Street.
  • Her husband, James R. Clevenger, white/male, 09/15/1966, 5’9”, 160 lbs, of Smithville, took her from her bedroom, stabbed her and then left in an older model white Toyota, possibly Forerunner. Mr. Clevenger has several northland addresses.
  • Mr. Clevenger has not been charged yet, but he poses a danger to Ms. Clevenger as she may be in need of medical attention.
  • Anyone with information about the whereabouts of James Clevenger or Tammy Clevenger is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816.474.8477. Police are working on getting a picture of Tammy Clevenger.
