Scam of the Week: Yellow Pages, Inc.

The Targets: U.S. postal customers.
The Hook: By cashing the check, known as a "live check", you're actually signing up for a high-priced subscription.
The Scammers
: Yellow Pages, Inc., among others. Kansas AG Phill Kline today announced that the California firm will pay back more than 2,000 Kansans it signed up to $50-a-month "subscriptions" this way. News release
How to avoid being victimized: Rip up such checks, don't cash 'em!
