This is depressing. Not only are his friends saying "you ****ed up, but we love you, man," but they are posting the most illiterate, stupid ravings I've ever seen. What are Grain Valley taxpayers' school dollars going to? Not spelling or grammar, that's for sure.
If the police are right, little Taylor more than "****ed up." He KILLED HIS OWN MOTHER. Hello? Do any of you little twits have an active conscience anymore? Sheesh.

LOL @ Myspace.
Kids who are emo, and illiterate can congregate adn show off pictures of stupid things and try to get their 15 minutes of fame by their sob stories/blogs.

What is with all this gangsta stuff? This kid lives in a suburb. All these kids seem to idolize the gangsta life style. They have lost all signs of reality and live in a self-imposed illusion of a gangsta life style.
Posted by: aqua | Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 11:31 AM
aqua: Maybe their parents should have saved all the money they spent getting their little darlings into a decent school district and moved into the 'hood, where Junior and Missy would be more comfortable. It's obvious their literacy skills wouldn't suffer much. LMAO
Posted by: Vibiana | Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 11:33 AM
Vib, it's not just Grain Valley kids who can't spell. You should look at some Xanga.com pages from KCK, Shawnee Mission and KCMO schools. Many don't understand how to construct a sentence.
Most don't know the difference between through and threw
our and are
which and witch
their, they're and there
know and no
your and you're
to, too and two
Besides that, there are a lot of gang bangers threatening and shotting each other, illegal weapons sales, drug sales, confessions of thefts and battery with video or pictures and other sordid stuff.
I'm amazed parents don't snoop or find out how to snoop in their computers for their kids' pages online. My neighbors could learn a lot about their daughter. Then again, maybe they like her to pose in her underwear simulating sex using stuffed animals, post a photo of herself and draw male genitalia in her mouth, and write about things we would only whisper on a pinky swear with our very best friend.
The secret lives of teenagers. Amazing.

*Shotting* was a typo. I know how to spell it. LOL
Posted by: ***** | Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 11:48 AM
****: Oh, I know it's not just Grain Valley. And it's certainly been going on for a long time, we're only now beginning to see long-range effects. For example, I read a lot, and it used to be absolutely unheard-of to find a typographical, spelling, or grammatical error in a book. Now they're almost common -- I'm not even surprised!
I'd really love to see some of these plush little suburban brats have to make it in the real world, though. Drop them off on East 27th Street at 11 PM some night and see if they can 'ghetto talk' their way out of getting their butts kicked. LOL

Why do parents allow their kids to keep putting up their info on this CRAP-TASTIC web page. That is how child molesters are finding their way right into the homes of these young kids...anybody watch 20/20 lately? Parents need to assert more control over their kids. Especially when most of them are creating these pages at home, where is the supervision??
Posted by: Lola | Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 12:28 PM
I saw his page this morning after they showed it on the news last night - wasn't too hard to find then!
Crazy kids......at least some of his "friends" said how could you and good bye, they could not be friends anymore. Sooo.....two of the 52 of his friends are smart. The rest?
Spelling? Don't even get me started. It is because the schools are too busy trying to teach those that can't speak english how to, and the rest of the kids fall behind. So I guess they all meet in the happy middle - the "Land of Don't Worry About Spelling!"
Posted by: jamie | Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 01:25 PM
Trust me, I have found ways to find out what "kids" are posting on myspace.. It's not illegal to do this, but if you use common sence, you can figure out how to "acess" information that kids are posting., Kids can do this at home, at a neighbors house, anywhere. I have reason to be a snoop. And it's amazing how these kids will accept anyone into their friends world. I have done this only to access accounts that I know exist, but have been set to "private," you will probably notice, if you have went to the myspace acct of these accused boys, most of their friends have their profiles set to private. You can access these profiles pretty easily, I must say WAY too easily.. If a kid has their profile set to private, they have something to hide, thats all I can say., I have also found it out.
Posted by: blondie2hot7 | Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 01:40 PM
blondie - they are required to be "private" if under a certain age - those were the restrictions set onto myspace otherwise the site would have been shut down. Supposedly it is to keep the adults away from the younger ones.

You've got to love some of the messages left for Taylor on the blog:
"...I want everything to go back to normal..."
"...whenever u guys have the chance call me ok..."
"...I HOPE I GET TO SEE YOU SOON..."
Um, things are not going to go back to normal. Ever. Do teenagers in general really not understand this?
Posted by: TMM | Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 02:26 PM
Did anyone ever see the website that mother-murdering Esmie Tseng's friends put up for her? They even had an on-line petition to "support" her. Teenagers just don't have the ability to think ahead and see the results of their actions in the long term-I was absolutely guilty of that as a teenager and I thank God everyday that I had very strict parents to keep me reigned in.
This is such a tragedy.

I'm waiting for Lance McNaKKK (or whatever his name is) to come on here and talk about how these were just some misguided young white boys...while black boys who do the same thing are sociopathic hoodlums.

Shotting or shooting
Whatever. These websites are the kids way of self expression. They can be gangsta in Grain Valley all they want, but I know I will never see them down where my kids live. Who cares if they wanted to be like Eminem. The fact is the kid killed his Mom, any question of how the dad survived?

Will Power: According to someone who posted in another thread, the mother and father were attacked in separate areas of the house, by separate assailants.

TV interviews with the friends of these kids won't help the Grain Valley Chamber of Commerce.
These kids can't speak. One girl said "I never KNOWED it would come to this."
Are they recent immigrants or just truly ignorant?
These kids show that underage drinking and smoking and the use of illegal substances does NOT improve your IQ.

I really don't think this is a good cross section of todays youth. Yea this bunch is f**ked up but I've been around a lot of kids the same age who have their act together.
But these are some seriously dysfuntional youth that are T-Mar's crowd. There are some adults in Grain Valley that have some serious problems they need to come to grips with.

Teens have always been misguided. The difference today is now they have a channel to easily and quickly express themselves...the internet.

Let's see, kid obviously screwed up. Dad is a freaking federal prosecutor. I bet he will be tried as an adult.

Poor T-Mar. What a tragic case. (NOT)
Although my heart breaks for his dead Mom.
His Dad is a wealthy prosecutor and he wishes he was an inner city gangsta gang banger. HILARIOUS!
What a disgrace....how can people let their kids spiral out of control like this???
Don't blame the teachers, blame the parents.
Did they know their kid had a my space account with dope leaves plastered all over it?????
Posted by: Jane | Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 04:09 PM
Problem with all this teen illiteracy is that teachers are not allowed to teach any more. They arent anything more than overpaid baby sitters. Cant discipline them, or they will tell mommy, or even worse, shoot them. And sad thing is, school systems back the kids up. We dont want to warp their little bitty feelings. And then we wonder why kids growing up (And a lot of pro athletes) cant read or write. (right?)

Jane: I've got to tell you -- a prosecutor is far from wealthy. Prosecutors are paid by the government. If he was a private defense attorney, maybe ... LOL. Grain Valley is hardly Hallbrook.
jamie: The only thing Soldier of War's post got wrong was his prediction about "T-Mar" going to the "Federal Pen." This will be prosecuted by the state of Missouri, not the feds, although he might be facing a federal charge for fleeing the jurisdiction. Not sure on that.

JJ is right. This is really not indicative of the majority of todays kids.
But what a bunch of freaking losers this bunch is.
LOSERS. And that goes for their parents as well.
I lay 100% of the blame at the feet of the adults for this. These people have no idea what their kids are doing. Zip, zilch, nada, zero and none.
I don't know much about the text messaging craze but it seems alot of this new slang is a product of that perhaps. No excuse, just a thought.

The really scary thing here is these kids are our future. They have been so numbed to violence by the crap they see at the movies, on TV, and these idiotic video games they play incessently, that it is little wonder they can't read, spell, or write coherently. The cRAP they listen to promotes the gangsta lifestyle, and parents NEED to get a handle on what's really going on in their kid's lives. It's your house, not theirs, so don't be afraid to toss the kids room, or conduct surprise inspections once in awhile. A random pee test might be in order too if curcumstances warrant it. Teach them the difference between right and wrong, what's good and what's bad for them, and the likely consequences of their actions when they make bad choices in their lives.Let them know that you are not here to win a popularity contest with them, but that you are here to help them, to guide them to become the best person that they can be to go forth into the real world and become a productive member of society. Above all love them, listen to them, show respect for them as it is earned. Your very life and the lives of those you love may very well depend on it.

Another white poseur, attempting to "pimp it" through life--no role models except violent ones. Great job, America. Great job, "American family values." What a colossal horror-show this country has become. As Yeats wrote, "Things fall apart; the center cannot hold; / Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, / The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere / The ceremony of innocence is drowned...." Or, as Conrad wrote, "The horror. The horror. Exterminate the brutes."

Very embarrassing for his dad that his son had a web page like this. Nothing keeps the kid from constructing it or rebuilding it away from home.
Dad is a really nice guy and I feel awful for him. He didn't deserve this to happen to his family.

Linda Lou..He didnt deserve this to happen to him? (The Dad)..What about the Mom? She was the one that got killed. Did this deserve to happen to her?
Maybe the parents WERE at fault for being to busy to be there for the kids, and "bought" all their attention, but NOBODY deserves to be murdered in cold blood.

It is just so sad, that so many kids get lost in the shuffle of Mom and Dad making a living. And lose out on spending Value time with their kids. Then they wonder where they went wrong. We made a few sacrifices, and didnt try to keep up with the Jone's, and did without a lot of the fancy stuff (I am retired military), so the wife could stay at home and give the three kids a proper raising. Now, one works in the govt in DC, one is a registered flight nurse in the Navy, and the oldest is a school teacher. I am afraid if the wife had spent more time away from the house and kids, things might have been different. Dont get me wrong...I am not critical of working moms, or two income families. I am just saying we did without a second car, had used furniture, things like that, to survive so she could stay home.

As a parent of a grain valley sophomore I understand the post's. Too bad his parent's were not aware of his personal struggles. And as a professional you would think his father could have seen the need for professional intervention. He must have seen the signs of a troubled teen. I have a daughter who graduated from GV HS in 2006 and scored in the 98th percentile for MAP testing and has earned many academic awards from not only GVHS but was awarded scholarships for academics. Grain Valley is a great town to live in and raise a family. It is also full of caring teachers and counselers and a offers a quality eduacation. Things like this happen in every town even Prarie Village KS. Its just a shame it all happened and is a sad week for all involved.

Several comments-I'm new to posting here:
Kids write in a kid kind of shorthand on blogs. They think adults can't understand it. (That just shows how much they know!)
When they write a paper in the formal register in school, it is different. They really can spell. I'm a teacher in the urban core. Our kids cope with problems that these "wannabes" can't even imagine. As a teacher, I don't consider myself a "babysitter," and I don't have to yell, berate, or hit kids to get their attention. If an adult treats kids with respect, those students tend to reciprocate. I don't have fights in our classroom, because my kids know that I don't tolerate it. Plus, my kids learn every day that they are in class.

I feel very sad for this family. The mother has been murdered, possibly by the hands of the child she carried in her womb for 9 months. If all of this is true, and these children are convicted of the murder, they're life will have been sacrificed, because of one moment in thier life when negative thoughts over came thier souls.
From the post on thier myspace page thier friends sincerely loved them, and are confused about what happened. None of us knows if all of this is true, but one thing is certain, the young people through out America are in pain and searching for a way out at the least, and possibly a way up out of the hell too many of them exist in.
I hope that we start to understand that pain isn't a "Black Thang", and that many of our homes, Black and White, are full of misery and suffering, and too many homes suffer in silence. I was taught that prayer is the most effective weapon against a suffering soul, and nothing in my life has proven to me that prayer doesn't work.
Our nation is at war, there is a war going on between Hezbollah and Isreal, that is threatening what little stability we have in the world. This murder is one of many in the world today, but still I say that peace and love can overcome these seemingly unsurmountable obstacles in the world.
So let us pray for a peaceful world. When you go to sleep tonight say a prayer for the children of the world. Pray for peace, because all this war is hell. Say a prayer for the afflicted souls in Kansas City, and throughout the world.
I'm remembering a quote by Geoge Bernard Shaw, that Robert Kennedy often repeated, that I believe is just as relevant, as when Mr. Kennedy was of this earth. It goes like this:
"Some men see things as they are, and ask WHY? I dream of things that never were, and say why not."
Why not peace in Kansas City, and throughout the world? Imagine a better world, and a better world will appear.

It's easy to blame the parents when you aren't aware of the situation. How do you know that they did not do everything they could to be there for him. There's more to the story than people know and rather than judging this family's life, maybe we should all take a look at ours and see how we can make things better.
Posted by: Reminder - please sign your comments | Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 10:40 PM
Any suggestion that these parents did anything wrong is uncalled for and disrespectul to two wonderful people who did all they could for their son. I would suggest that you know-it-all types refrain from commenting on such personal topics without knowing what you are talking about. Theses parents were loving, caring, and did all the textbook parenting that could have been done.

I just wanted to say one thing.. I was reading through many of the postings on the kid who killed his mom, someone said it wasn't his mom, he was adopted. That may tell alot about this story, and from what I understand, the 5 year old was his step brother.. I was so intrigued by the story, I couldn't help but read what some of the friends of these kids were posting on these websites.. Some said some stupid things, like earlier posters here said, other's said, I hope they rot. I don't understand it either way, it was another senceless murder. I can't imagine. If any of you check out either one of the boys pages, on the "friends" page, it had a post by the son of the prosecutor, and he made an image of a gun with a bullet coming out of it.. I know he went to a lot of trouble to post this gun pic, it was made out of symbols on the comp. I think someone knew this was coming... I can't say for sure, but I think more people heard about it, and didn't speak up. Tragic story. Myspace needs to be removed from the internet, period! And, it's up to the user to set their page to private, I'm not saying that myspace don't have that policy about the age thing, but I have seen people on there that are way older than 18 and theres are set to private (they have something to hide?). A lot of people have ages on there like 99?? Right. (check it out jamie)

Gangs are everywhere. Even here in the Alaskan wilderness. A lot of stems from what kids see, the rest is like someone said earlier that parents move to where they think their kids would be safer only to have brought the bad with them.
As far as spelling and proper English it's also happening everywhere. The only time I see it any better is when a child is either home schooled or in a charter school. With the new education practices of passing a student even if they are not learning it will continue to be a problem. And English isn't the only part that suffers, so is Math, History and Geography. Just ask a kid what 4th of July means and they will tell you it's a Vietnam Holiday.
Until we demand better education and discipline for our children this will continue to get worse.
With higher costs it takes both parents to work to make ends meet. Therefore there is no supervision. The answer to this is to live within our means. Kids don't need fancy cars, toys or clothes they need supervision and care.
I grew up in a home with 10 kids and 2 parents, with only 3 bedrooms and 1 bath. I turned out pretty good. All of us kids had our chores and had to do our studies. Now you get in trouble if you assign chores to your child and schools hardly ever give out homework.
Let's all stand up and fight the politicians and bureaucrats that are doing more harm than good and are taking parenting away from the parents. Turn off the boob tube, turn of the computers and spend time with your families.

Guys, I keep a blog myself, and I sure as heck don't write perfectly. It's not a legal paper, a school paper or anything like that. Now, I think it's dumb looking the way teens write, but I seriously doubt that is what shows up in a school paper. And they are 14,15,16 yrs old. They are not thinking straight, most of them. You can blame the school system, but instead of blaming it, why don't you get off your butt and DO SOMETHING instead of just complain?
Besides, these 'friends' didn't know what he was gonna do, nor did they help him, so how close of friends are they. I'm just saying that remember what being a teen was like, we were the end of civilization listening to the likes of Elvis, or Rolling Stones, or any of the other 2 million bands...
Just don't lump all teens together as bad seeds, most are not. Hope I didn't spell anything wrong.

This just goes to show that parents are too focused on living the American Dream and keeping up with the Jones'. I mean, come on, parents need to stop letting the Xbox and the Computer be their kids babysitter and take some time out of their busy life for their children. Back in the day, parents used to be know everything that went on in their kids lives, who their friends were, where they were going, what they were doing. Now, it's almost illegal as a parent to snoop into your kids' lives, they have rights too you know, this new age psycho crap is what is leading this country down. Parents are scared of their kids! Plain and simple! If they don't buy them the newest game system and let them veg out on it for 10 hours a day, or if they don't buy them the $200 shoes they want, then they think they are failures as parents. Kids don't need more stuff, they need parents to get involved in their lives and show they care. If you are too busy to know where your kids are at all times, then you are too busy! If you are too busy to know that your kid is hanging out with freaks, then you are too busy! Kids need to be taught respect once again, because for some reason kids think THEY run the show now.

bob: You are right about doing something about it. I think we all need to get a petition going to remove myspace.com from the WWW. How many storie's have we heard lately that comes back to "Did you hear so and so had a myspace acct. and he warned people that he was going to do this?" Xanga.com is the same way. It seems as if it's a compettion as to who has the coolest page, and the most friends. I was reading the post's and looking at the websites of the other kid's most of the night. I ended back on that T-mars page, and I'll be damned if I didn't see a post on there with T-masrsdawg4life picture?? Someone obviously has his password and access to his account. I don't even remember what it said. Then, this one girl on T-Mars page was getting mad for someone trying to act like T-mars friend so they could get their 15 minutes of fame??? These kid's are actually fighting over who was better friends with these boys! Ok, there's going to be counseler's on hand for these kids to talk to, but what the town of Grain Valley needs to have on hand is some "psychologist's" to figure these kids out. It's not my place to raise these kids, it's my place to raise mine. There are grown adults that have web pages on that website. It started out as a "diary" type of thing, now it's a "rocky horror picture show."

Having spent a good deal of time working with at-risk teens (honestly, what teen isn't at risk?), it's pretty interesting to see what adults who aren't exposed to that culture think about them.
First of all, teens don't have to live in the ghetto to be "gangsta." It's a popular style these days. Yes, they glorify that lifestyle. Yes, they would probably not be able to weather a night in a real ghetto. But how is that any different than teens who glorify the Nascar culture but couldn't drive a car at 100+ miles to save their lives? Or ones who glorify professional wrestling but wouldn't last a minute in the ring?
Second, teens use the popular internet "speech" that their friends use, but that doesn't mean they don't know how to speak and write properly when needed. Clearly, MySpace was not developed as an English class project ;) In fact, my teenage brother is a very talented writer (has won fiction contests) who deteriorates into this internet language when he's writing to friends online.
Third, a lot of what you see on MySpace pages and in adult emails is emotion that wouldn't otherwise have a place to be expressed. That's why it can seem so illogical. Who here hasn't ever sent an email or made a post on a blog as an emotional response? Not to mention, it's pretty common for people to have mixed feelings when loved ones do reprehensible things. On one hand, one is upset at what the loved one did, and on the other hand is afraid to lose the relationship.

CD must have the best class ever. Yes, kids write in blog / text shorthand. Yes, we know some of them can really spell. Some adults know this already.
However, I have also seen others that absolutely can not - they have no grasp at all on proper English.
My mother taught high school english for 20 + years. You should have seen some of the senior's papers I graded (I was in jr. high)....it was pathetic! And their attitudes? They could give a sh!t less about their skills.....really sad.

I beg to differ with Vib, just because a child may live in the "hood" doesn't mean they are il-literate. I see "whites" in the in the hood all the time buying drugs and chasing behind the black men, they don't get their butts kicked. Of course his defense will be he was abused. Which will mean he has never seen the end of a belt. Loving a child and Spoiling a child is two different things. Love them enough to raise them and stop spoiling them to get them out of your face. Now, we know he did not listen to "Big Momma".

Samona: I realize that not all "hood" kids are illiterate. Nor are all suburban kids erudite geniuses, as we have plainly seen. LOL
As for Kim, yes, maybe we are a bunch of dried-up old geezers who can't comprehend the beauty of the hip-hop culture. Perhaps, because I don't like to think society is about to witness the ascent to power of a generation that think of women as "bitches" and "hos" and believes that celebrity (at whatever cost) is more important than accomplishment, that makes me a fuddy-duddy. So be it.
I came of age in the early 1980s, and I used to like to listen to gender-bending artists like Culture Club and Eurythmics. My parents thought the world was ending the first time they got a gander at Boy George. LOL But Annie Lennox never sang about killing cops or slamming bitches against the wall or the kind of lovely "music" that is currently in vogue among the young. While it's true that every generation says the kids are out of control, in this case, I'm not so sure they're wrong.

Good Grief! Everytime I have went to that web page of T-Mars the story changes... Some kid named "Kaleb"?? said it was "T-Mars" "real mom" & "stepdad?" I'm not real sure after reading these post's that anyone knows. I know it may sound messed up, but I am reading these "blogs" to see what these kids are saying. One of them "a female" said in a post on Eddie's site (I think it was his site) anyhow she said " I should of went with you to shoot ya know.." I don't know what she meant by that, or who she was talking about. This crap is all too confusing. I believe that Michael, the young man who was in anger management with "T-Mar" knew he had said something about doing something bad to his parent's, but he also said in a blog posted on his site that they are sworn to secrecy about what's being said in those meetings. I think there has to be a line drawn as to what's being kept a secret. This Michael guy even said that "T-Mar" said he tried to stab his dad once already..Reading all this is giving me an ulcer. I've really got to quit reading the post's.

HAHAHAHAHA. Check out the chick who left a message for TMAR and has on the Abercrombie shirt...ohh that's priceless.

I can't get on myspace at work to see what the messages say!
Posted by: jamie | Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 09:58 AM
jamie: Trust me, you wouldn't believe it if you did see them. Those kid's are leaving message's as if they are going to be back to "hook up with 'em soon?" I don't know if it just hasn't sunk into them that their buddies have murderered someone, or they are just plain stupid! I think they are all in denial. If you have a computer at home jamie, get on there and read the comments, I have a feeling that myspace will be deleting the accounts soon.. I also read these 2 boys are refusing extradition from Colorado.. I have no idea why. The judge in their case is just going to have to do a little extra paper work to MAKE them go back to Grain Valley. They need to be a little more cooperative, but then again, after doing what they did, what would make anyone think they would cooperate with anything, or anyone?

Like I said in the other blog on this, fighting extradition in a murder case is standard procedure (it usually dosen't work unless the state that arrested them has them on a greater charge). I'm sure there will be a flurry of motions to suppress evidence, and to have them charged as juveniles, and to have them declared incompetent to stand trial, and all sorts of other legal manuvering before they even go to court or discuss a deal. All part of the legal process. If the lawyer doesn't make them aware of all of their legal options, they stand a better chance of getting off on appeals later on down the line.

blondie:
I do have a computer at home, and watched some of the comments. Stupid work blocked myspace and other webpages like it with third party advertisements due to spam / virus issues.....let's see now - how many web pages have third party advertisements? LOL Yeah - I can't even get to YAHOO!!
I will go home and look later. I am honestly surprised myspace tom hasn't removed the accounts already. Especially since they are plastered all over the TV news, and are probably getting hits / stupid comments like crazy!

blondie2hot7,
yes, Pam was Taylor's biological mother. Joe adopted Taylor after he married Pam.
Yes, Taylor did attempt to stab Joe with a knife once before.
Joe and Pam did not ignore Taylor's problems, as some appear to believe.
It's absolutely appalling to read how people, who have no knowledge of the family and their situation, can take what little information they learn from their media of choice, and then pass judgment on Taylor's parents.
It's a sad, sad world.

Why are teenagers getting all the blame? Certian adults have a myspace blogs too where they can post various information about themselves. Not all of us tennagers are stupid give us some credit and try to GROW UP please, or at least act your age, you should be setting us examples.
But I do understand what you are saying about Murderers blogs, and support site put up for them.
