Buckner police chief suspended
Dereck Sayers, police chief of Buckner (pop. 2,700) for about the past nine months, has been suspended, and city attorney Steve Mauer isn't saying why.
Sayers, who lives in rural eastern Jackson County, confirmed the suspension but wouldn't say anything else.
