A Kansas City mother was charged with child endangerment Sunday just
days after neighbors rescued her toddlers — who had been left alone —
from the family’s burning apartment.
Casey Flowers, 24, was charged in Jackson County with two counts of
endangerment. Authorities said she left the girls alone Friday morning
when a fire started in the kitchen area of her apartment. She returned
45 minutes after the fire was reported, but fled when she learned the
girls were OK, according to court records. She was later arrested.
