Police: Man paid to have pregnant girlfriend's belly punched

Minneapolis police say an 18-year-old punched a 19-year-old pregnant woman in the stomach after her boyfriend, 22, agreed to pay him $200. The baby died a few days later. Both men have been charged with second-degree murder and first-degree assault.

People never cease to amaze. This is off the charts. And it has happened before I know. Not only was this done to kill the baby (of course some argue if it's a baby yet), but causing the woman to miscarry could have caused damage to her as well. I feel bad, my wife ended up with me when she could have had something like this guy. I'm called selfish for replacing my broke down pickup with a Tahoe, rather than letting her get something bigger. She could have something within months of the baby being born, Tahoe will be paid off. Maybe I should send this article to her and show her what real man would do for her.

I've been lucky. We wanted to have kids shortly after getting married. Well, conceived on the honeymoon. 6-7 weeks later, early term miscarriage. "By accident" (lol) the wife was pregnant again a month later. Things are going well as we are about to enter the third trimester. So we have been lucky. I know of sooo many couples that either just can't have kids that want them so badly, or it takes them years after years of trying. Then you get this kinda stuff that happens on a daily basis it seems. It is enough to make the most optimistic person feel blue.

Obviously these two deserve 1st Degree Murder charges. The baby was beyond the viable fetus date. At about 2 lbs when born this baby would have been a micro-preemie, but still could have survived. The woman would have been roughly 27 weeks I am guessing by the size of the baby. Viability starts at about 24 weeks. So the question of whether the "baby" was a person is invalid. The baby survived outside of the womb for 9 days before being removed from life support due to the injuries sustained in the attack.

They will probably be able to plea down to manslaughter, they will serve less time for this than they would for being a debtor.
They will probably serve less than 7 years versus very possibly be faced with serving an indefinite sentince once becoming a debtor with a principal and interest so ridiculous that they would NEVER be able to get out from underneath it.

The prosecutor's office probably didn't file First Degree Murder charges because they knew it would be too easy for the defense attorney to find jurors who believed this not to be a baby -- therefore, the prosecutor is probably hoping these two guys will cop a plea out of court.

This makes me so sick. I am pregnant right now, and the dad is not in the picture and did try to send some girls to jump me cuz he didnt want me to have the baby. Fortunately for me my step dad came into the picture with a loaded shot gun lol before anyone could lay a hand on me. but I am 27 weeks pregnant, about what she was, and if someone did that to me I would be devestated. You BOTH should have thought about that BEFORE screwing without protection. You will get a free ride now, whatever you want. You will receive the EIC, CTCC, as well as being eleigble for numerous single mom only college scholarships. What you should do is tell the DCSE that he makes $70,000 a year, the family court will award you a presumtive child support award and you are set for at least 23 years.
