UPDATED: We've got a name for the suspect: Kenneth D. Smith, 34.

UPDATED: Police say they've got a suspect in custody after a chase Thursday afternoon in Kansas City. We could have charges a little later today.

Clay County authorities believe he's the person who killed Tony E. Barnett Jr. of Liberty on Wednesday morning while Barnett was working at a convenience store in Randolph. We don't know much about Barnett. Only that he's 27 and had worked at the store about a year. Will be looking for more info about who he was.

UPDATE: Doesn't look like this case is connected to the slaying of a convenience-store clerk in Pacific, Mo.
