Meet Curtis Allgier

This man -- Curtis Allgier, 27, a neo-Nazi inmate from Utah -- is accused of shooting and killing a prison guard while being examined at a local hospital. Authorities say he then carjacked a vehicle, led police on a high-speed chase and fled into an Arby's, wher a 59-year-old bystander wrestled the gun away and saved the day.

From the story:

"This inmate is a bit peculiar in that he has ties to white supremacist organixzations," he said. "And he had had some dynamics there that caused us to be concerned with his own safety [at Utah State Prison]. There had been some fallout from some other supremacists in the prison -- a falling out, so to speak."

In the film "Papillon," Steve McQueen's character, having escaped the penal colony and while in the process of traversing the jungle, meets a guy who has had his entire head tattooed much like this creep's. The difference? The guy is personable, likeable, and clearly rues the one drunken night responsible for his subsequent look. This Allgier character? I doubt he has the capacity ever to rue anything--sociopaths lack the ability to reflect on their past actions.

Nuts. I just saw this show on MSNBC called Lockup. They go to all the prisons over the country and basically it's a mini documentary about how horrible prison is and how 99% of the people in prison say it sucks, but can't manage to stay out.

Anyway, this dude was on there. I remember because of all the tatoos. He was interviewed saying, "Being a Skinhead is a way of life. I have these swastikas as a cultural pride thing. They're good luck."

Imagine that. All the good luck in his life. Anyway, he certainly looks the part.

No, the act of going to prison for any reason automatically grants one that distinction. It's the justification the "Therapeutic Community" uses to get their hooks into the taxpayers pocket. I've seen other pictures of him that showed part of his chest, legs, and arms and all of him appears to be covered in tattoos. I only have one on my ankle and it hurt like the dickens getting it done. I can't imagine how bad it hurt to get those done. I like Chris just watched the show on MSNBC about the Utah state prison and was totally shocked when I woke up a few days later to see the story on the local news with this guy, I live here in Utah and it has been sad to see the story of the man killed by Curtis, and whats more insane is the fact that even with the smoking gun in hand it will be years before Mr. Allgire will pay for his actions.

Here in Utah we still have the option of death by firing squad, and its only to bad that it couldnt have taken place much sooner in the parking lot of that Arby's.

No one can go in a man and not become an animal due to the abuse suffered behind those walls...Curtis Allgier is a perfect example of what happens to someone who fucks up and pays a hard price. The "falling out" with his gang which some have suggested indicates that he is an extremist even by prison gang standards is in fact due to comments he made to an MSNBC news crew. There is a program which "investigates" or rather show cases the lives of prisoners. In one of the show casings the inmate at hand was interviewed and made open criticisms of the gang he is affiliated with. After which his safety inside of the prison was jeopardized. As one can imagine he had preexisting enemies due to his affiliation and after the interview what protection he had was also against him. It is therefore legitimate to question what role MSNBC had as a catalyst in the brash escape attempt that cost a correctional officer his life.
