Did brain problems play part in Montgomery case?

Montgomery Lisa Montgomery -- who's accused of killing a northwest Missouri woman and stealing the unborn child from her womb -- might have brain problems that interfered with her self-control, a neuropsychologist testified in court yesterday. Experts hired by the prosecutors disagree. Mark Morris has a longer report here. Montgomery's trial for the murder of Bobbie Jo Stinnett is slated to start next month.

Whoa, I never thought a brain problem could be an issue here!
What a brilliant defense strategy.
Another revealing issue from the College of Duh!

"might have brain problems that interfered with her self-control, a neuropsychologist testified in court yesterday."

No way! I guess they're not going for the ever popular "boredom" excuse.

Brain problems??? Of course she had brain problems! This is why she did what she did! However, most adults know right from wrong regardless of brain problems. Did she seek help regarding feelings that were probably abnormal??? Probably not! Thus, she still should be held accountable for her actions regardless of whether she had brain problems or not!!

ground breaking discovery....

I have something wrong with my brain.....Aaaarrrrrrggggg....
Can I get scholarship????

I could accept this as a defense. Of course there would have to be conclusive proof, requiring a sample for detailed analysis.
Never let it be said that I am not open minded enough to accept genuine scientific evidence.

Sample for analysis ????
How about both frontal lobes....
that should take care of it.

I dont think I want samples. After handling, it might be hard to wash the stoopid off.

Ok, she has a brain problem (no really). So lock her up so she isnt a danger to the rest of the world.

Her lawyers have brain , and conscience, problems for devising this obsence defense.
Our legal system has no conscience...

Sure she was crazy... She planned the means of seducing and stalking her victim, carried the tools to the victim's house, and studied how to surgically remove the baby by not killing it , and telling everyone that she was pregnant.

If the judge accepts this defense, he needs to be removed for being crazy. Thankfully , God will judge both her lawyers and her.

Well her lawyers job is to give her the best defense as they can. As much as I hate the idea that people are trying to get her to go free they have to.

If they didn’t they would lose there license and she would get another trial because she didn’t have adequate attorneys.

Didn’t she admit to doing it? Didn’t they find her with the baby? Why is this even a case. Just take her out back and get a rope. Wow what have we become when the Iraq justice system makes more since than our own. Saddam would have been found innocent by reasons of insanity if he would have been tried in the US……………..don’t laugh you know it might be true.

a year jail time tops

The lawyers are criminally insane for this defense and the Judge is a moron for allowing them to waste taxpayer $$$$ presenting it. She was caught "red-handed". The lawyers and judges do not care about justice.....unless it's one of their own!!

I still wish the incident had happend in Kansas. There the only time a "mental disease or defect" is relevant is if it makes you hallucinate so wildly that you have no idea what you're doing. I think that might be a hard sell even for this woman.

WWJT: What Would Jesus Think? He wouldn't think; he would act!! He would smite these heathens back to the stone age.

This is not a solid defense given the circumstances of the case. However, there are mental diseases and imbalances that lead people to do some crazy things. I should know as I've had two family members commit suicide. That being said, realize that you are a humanoid biological entity susceptible to these diseases just like everyone else and if you got sick and did something stupid one day you'd be playing this exact same defense and hoping like hell that the judge and jury took pity on you.

Also- There is no white bearded man in the sky who's going to judge you when you die. Do you realize how freakin' ridiculous that sounds?
