In Des Moines, two teenagers are accused of cutting through the roof a liquor-and-tobacco store, presumably so they could rob the place. The only problem? It appears they forgot about the overhang -- their hole only allowed them access to the sidewalk below.
A lady walking her dog spotted them, so they ran off -- right in the path of an excellent security camera, police said. Snip from the store's owner:
"Right here is where he jumps down," said Bartlett, as he reviewed a surveillance tape. "And right here," he said, pausing to wait for the right frame, "is where he looks right into the camera.
"I told the cop, 'You don't spend your days chasing geniuses, do you?' " he said.
