I never understood this, isn't everything a hate crime?

No CB. When special people commit crimes, it is not really their fault. They are thinking about things like affirmative action and global warming when they rape, rob, and murder the people that caused them to do it.
It a proven fact! They did a study!

I live in a racial mixed community.

We had a drug dealer whom "likely" slashed tires and damaged properties of the white people in the neighborhood for calling the police on him. He kept saying everyone was against him for being black and blamed all the white people for calling the police.

Little did he know how connected the rest of us were and that even the other black and hispanic neighbors were calling because we were all sick of the his activity.

Of course there is no direct evidence linking him or his frequent "visitors" to the damages.

He finally moved and incredibly all that damaged stopped.

I often wonder how many of these nooses are being placed in these locations by African Americans who want to cause a stir. I also wonder why Good 'Ol Sharpton didn't show up at the school where "colored" and "white" signs were placed over the water fountains. Hmmm...maybe it's because an African American teen admitted that he did it. Apparently, Sharpton believes that only whites can be guilty of hate crimes.

It is interesting that during their March last week that they were listing all of these cases of hates crimes, but only the white on black hate crimes. There have been cases of black on white hate crimes, but they didnt mention a single one.....Isn't that interesting. Oh wait, if you charge a black person with a hate crime on a white person, then it is just racism on the part of the prosecutor, I forgot......

According to this article, Jonathan and all of the other naysayers, 20% of the reported hate crimes in this study were committed by black people.

I don't care if it was 20% of 1%, if AS and JJ are going to march and surround the Department of Justice, in support of better enforcement of hate crimes then why would he only mention the black on white crimes? According to this artice, one of every 5 is commited by black people. How come he didn't mention a single one of those? Like I said before, because he doesn't consider black on white crime a hate crime. Face it, AS wants all crimes commited by white people prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and all crimes commited by black people to be given a free pass. By the way, has he apologized yet for the spectacle/ass he made of himself last year at the Duke Debacle?

The percentage of hate crimes are up because the definition of hate crimes continues to widen... DUH.

Jonathan you sound a little upset? AS and JJ, as you call them, maybe they only bring up those kinds of crimes because their purpose is to help and uplift black people. Most of the situation that you see AS and JJ in are situation where they are needed. Where the case may not get the media attention it needs, or get the the support the family needs to make a difference. Maybe it's money maybe the support is to keep the judge and jury knowing that there is someone with power behind a person so they can get a "fair" trial, such as with Jena 6. Yes Duke was wrong but for every Duke there is a Jena 6, personally I rather see 1 Duke then 2 Jena 6. I don't know you but the attitute you have in that message is what causes the hate and the reason people like AS and JJ are needed.

The hate the AS and JJ spread are the reason I get upset. Those two are two are the larger causes of racial unrest in this country in my opinion. They show up on TV every other week in some case trying to remind African Americans that they should hate all white people for some reason. They lobby like all get out to get Don Imus fired, then they show up on TV saying that people are taking it too hard on Michael Vick and to give him a second chance. No matter your opinion on what Imus said, do you really think that it was worse than Michael Vick killing/torturing a bunch of dogs and fighting them against each other? Words vs. killing several living beings?
