Grandma loves her babies, Second Amendment

Smith

Lovely story from the Carthage area where a grandmother, age 63, used a handgun to stop two robbers from breaking into her home, the Joplin Globe reports. (Grandma was babysitting her grandkiddo at the time, so the crooks are probably lucky she didn't put the hammer down on general principle.)

Police are thrilled -- they think the suspects might be linked to a series of break-ins.

I'm surprised this even made the news.

Stories of guns being used properly for self defense are rarely reported - but much more common that those who use them to commit crimes.

Agreed. It seems like there are a lot of folks around here that would rather have seen the grandmother shoot and kill the would-be robbers. Properly using a handgun for self-defense and vigilante justice are two very different things.

Guns are not a prop. Anyone (including government)that tries to negate yourConstitutional rights as a LEGAL citizen, you have the UNALIENABLE right to utilize center mass.

If grandpa had used it he'd be facing charges.

Was her house protected by the security firm of SMITH & WESSON or SAMUEL COLT.

Bravo, a victory for the 2nd Amendment and Missouri's Concealed - Carry law !!!

If grandma had used it to shoot two guys running away from her neighbor's house, she would be facing charges too.

one shot .... one kill
