Misplaced file forced exonerated man to serve 2 extra years

Harold David Buntin served 11 years in prison until a DNA test cleared him of rape. Then he spent another two years in prison because, well, the court lost his file. He is, yes, suing -- pretty much everybody, including the attorney who got him cleared. Story is from Indiana.

Hat Tip: Many thanks, kmb!

This happens all the time in the Family Court system. Clay, Jackson and Johnson counties pull this all the time.
I have a family memeber that Clay county kept in and out of jail eventhough he was in compliance. They kept claiming they made an error "sorry". They even allowed someone to perjure themselves and did nothing about it. Pathetic. Meanwhile, child molestors, rapist and vilent criminals are cut loose for the "debtors".
