NC man faces criminal charges over pickup line

In this case, it was telling people that he was a policeman.

"When asked why, Melton said that he did it to impress the ladies. Melton said that he did not know it was a crime and that he thought it sounded better than telling the ladies that he was a plumber."

Silly boy, doesn't he know that plumbers usually make more money than police officers :)

Telling folks your a cop to steal money may be justified as a crime. Telling a girl you are a cop (or a racecar driver or a Democrat) to get laid should not be a crime. That's plain silly as locking up a gal for saying she's a model or a lonely nun!
