A man emerged from nearby woods and climbed into the cab’s back seat. The driver turned around and saw the “huge barrel” of a gun, believed to be a shotgun, pointed at him.

The gunman demanded all the cabbie's money, then shot him when he slammed on the gas instead of forking it over. Police said the driver was undergoing surgery on Monday.
