KCK teens accused of business robberies in KCMO

From Sara Shepherd:

Two Kansas City, Kan., teens were charged Wednesday with robbing a pair of businesses on Tuesday night in midtown.

Andy Hernandez, 19, and Juan L. Vilchis, 18, were among four people allegedly involved in the robberies of Papa John’s Pizza at 1314 Westport Road and Wendy’s at 3118 Main St. In both cases, victims told police the suspects were toting a shotgun and a baseball bat and made off with the entire cash drawer.

Officers followed the suspects into Kansas, where Hernandez, Vilchis, a juvenile and a fourth person, who has not been charged, were taken into custody in connection with a pair of robberies on that side of the state line. Hernandez and Vilchis were being held in Wyandotte County.
