Dear Subway Robber: The police want to give you back your wallet

A robber left an important clue as he fled a hold-up in Kansas City today: his wallet.

The man ordered a sandwich at the Subway at 7719 State Line Road about 4:30 p.m. and then went to the restroom. When he returned, he put his wallet on the counter and quietly demanded money. Then he fled without the wallet, which held his ID.

“We know who is and we have a pickup order for his arrest,” said Detective Tammy Payne. “It’s just a matter of time before we find him.”

The same man is suspected of robbing the Hardee’s at 6323 Independence Ave. about 90 minutes earlier.
