FL deputy Tasers 11-year-old girl, officials say
By that point, the girl had allegedy pushed another kid into oncoming traffic, spit at her teachers and then punched the deputy in the face, giving the officer a nosebleed. The girl was arrested and now faces criminal charges, including battery on a law enforcement officer.
I'm not saying it's OK to Taser little girls ... but I might be willing to make an exception here.

spare the tazer, spoil the child.

You know James, after reading the story. would have shocked her again for general purposes. What a brat.

wow. She deserved it.

Exception accepted.

It may not be good practice to tazer an 11 year old girl per se... but by all means... shock the hell out of the spawn of satan parading around as an 11 year old girl!

I would love to have witnessed this whole thing!! HAHAH!!
Posted by: True American | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 01:47 PM
This cant be the first time she exhibited violent behavior.
Posted by: deadhead | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 01:56 PM
Not that she didn't deserve it, but come on, she is an 11 year old girl. How hard would it be to overpower her? Sounds like this police officer is a little pansy, getting his butt kicked by a little girl. haha!
Posted by: Lindsay | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 02:34 PM
Yes, she was out of control.

Taser stories are funny. Something about electricity, I guess. 8P
"Not that she didn't deserve it, but come on, she is an 11 year old girl. How hard would it be to overpower her?"
He he... hadn't considered that. All that bovine growth hormone producing goliath girls these days, ya know.

Posted by: | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 03:04 PM
She and the officer are extremely more likely to avoid injury via the taser than "overpowering" her. Just another armchair know it all giving out useless info.
I'll remind people that the deaths aren't coming from the taser. Its the huge amount of cocaine in people's bodies which contributes to their actions of getting tazed in the first place.
I'm sure it hurt this little girl. Maybe she'll remember next time.
Posted by: I Know | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 03:05 PM
First Give her a medal for hitting a cop...next drop the charges ...then yes she should have been tasered or better yet the Dad if around Should Beat her little Butt!

"She and the officer are extremely more likely to avoid injury via the taser than "overpowering" her."
That is just stupid.
Posted by: Lindsay | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 03:14 PM
Lindsay, if you were smart enough to read the story, you would have noticed that the deputy was female. Not that this really makes any difference though. What would your reaction be if the deputy would have hit the girl with her baton? How would you suggest that she take this hellion into custody. I would challenge you to attempt to hold on to someone who does not want to be held on to, without eventually having to hurt them to make them comply. It is an extremely difficult thing to do. The use of the Tazer, while painful for a short period of time, may have actually saved the little monster from having to be physically subdued and possibly hurt in the process. Lindsay, I think you should stick to serving fries and leave the intelligent conversation to the adults.
Posted by: RB | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 03:16 PM
The fact that the 11 year old is a girl doesn't matter. What matters is that a child is out of control, and had injured another person, and could have possibly caused the death of the little girl that was pushed into traffic. So, I don't think the taser was inappropriate. What is inappropriate is the comments above such as "spawn of Satan". This child needs to be helped before she causes permanent injury or death to someone else, or herself. Perhaps someone will be able to determine why she is so angry (and violent), and be able to help her.
Posted by: | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 03:20 PM
Normally I would say no but in this case I'm all for it. Plus one to grow on.
Posted by: kmw | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 03:23 PM
Don't think the taser was enough? Think she should have been stoned, locked away, chained in a dungeon? This CHILD needs to be punished and by all means her behavior needed to be stopped, but do you think maybe DAD is around (or some other adult) and could already be busting her butt? or, in other words, physically abusing her? Don't you think a child that acts out like this is learning that behavior from somewhere? Don't you think maybe the first step would be to determine why, and then decide what to do? If she is in an abusive situation, she should be taken out of it.
Posted by: | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 03:28 PM
"I would challenge you to attempt to hold on to someone who does not want to be held on to, without eventually having to hurt them to make them comply."
I accept your challenge, RB. Come to McDonald's and say that to my face, I bet I could make you comply within 5 seconds.
Posted by: Lindsay | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 03:28 PM
You go Lindsay. It was just a little girl and it's a shame that she was too much for an officer of the law to handle.
How quickly do you think you could make me comply? hehehehe.
Posted by: blarney | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 03:34 PM
What Lindsay, you gonna hold a Big Mac from him?
You give or I'm not giving you this burger! OK, I give, I'm so hungry.
5 Secs, you were right:)

I think I scared RB away. Just what I expected.
Posted by: Lindsay | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 03:53 PM
So you agree with me Lindsay. You say you could make me comply in 5 seconds? How? Maybe by pouring hot coffee on me or throwing hot grease in my face, but that's my point exactly. What you could not do, is grab me (or anyone else for that matter) and take me into custody if I don't want to submit, without using some type of pain compliance technique. Even a larger child is difficult for one or even two people to control if they don't want to be controlled. You have to use some type of device or have enough manpower to completely overpower the
person. It's easy make jokes about it, but the reality is that no matter what that deputy did, people like you would find fault. That's ok though Lindsay, the police will still come to your trailer and take care of all your problems for you, just like every weekend.
Posted by: RB | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 03:53 PM
Your feeble comments could never scare me away Lindsay. I do have more important things to do with my time though than verbally spar with the likes of you. A bit of advice as I leave you. Don't come to a battle of wit unarmed! See ya, Lindsay.
Posted by: RB | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 03:59 PM
I would use pressure point tactics, the same techniques that every Officer is trained to know. Yeah it would hurt but wouldn't be dangerous to your health. I don't know your stats, but if you are the height/weight of a typical 11 year old girl then I don't think it would be impossible.
Posted by: Lindsay | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 03:59 PM
RB, I bet I could make you comply that quickly without using anything but my left hand and only three fingers on that hand. In fact I am used to people being buttwipes to me because my opinion seems to differ than most. Lindsay though doesn't bring this kind of heat and I personally would like to give this 5second test a shot.

I know James will be deleting those posts but this turd had no reason for his little meltdown on you.
I was going to post "gee I hope the 11yr old wasn't too much for the cop". I mean a taser? c'mon that cop should be fired just for being a total and complete loser. I bet she gets laughed at by all the other cops and isn't allowed to play any police games.
Posted by: blarney | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 04:12 PM
lindsay sounds like a bigot. "not a homo" what the f*ck does that have to do with anything? you are a dumb as f*ck piece of missouri trash. now go back to your trailer and shut up. plus wasn't the whole point that you, personally, couldn't subdue someone without inflciting pain, yet your "pressure point" theory by your own admisstion does exactly that. you're a dumb tw@t.
Posted by: scott | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 04:36 PM
Hey Scott, when calling someone dumb it's always best to make sure you spell correctly and use correct Grammar. If not it makes you look like the one who is dumb and live in a trailer.
Also trying to call her names associated with your mother is kind of tacky. Leave that to your mother.
Posted by: blarney | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 04:40 PM
oh blarney how i knew that was coming...despite going to kc schools, i do know how to spell and use grammar, but i don't really feel the need to impress the likes of you. of course you don't address the issue. her using that slur. what if it had been, oh i don't know, n*gger? would that be ok too?
Posted by: scott | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 04:44 PM
You all need tasered... :-)
Posted by: True American | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 04:45 PM
no we don't TA...oops. Let me start over lest I get reprimanded again. No we do not TA, Lindsay can take care of it without the use of a taser.
Posted by: scott | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 04:47 PM
"Pressure point tactics" don't work on people who are actively aggressive... only people who are passivily aggressive... like a sit in, or "I'm not taking my hands off the wheel, and I'm not getting out of the car."
If the girl was thrashing around and out of control, how are you going to apply a "pressure point tactic."
Anybody who thinks the officer/deputy should have just muscled the girl into handcuffs has either never been in any kind of physical confrontation, or is just plain retarded.
She probably would have ended up with some road rash, pulled muscles, sprained joints, etceteras at the least, and broken bones on the far end... had the officer/deputy spared the taser.

DFBarnes, this stuff is done all the time. Especially to someone smaller and weaker. No broken bones
Road Rash? You generally need to slide on pavement of some type for that.
Sprained joints? LOL! okay this is just getting funny.
fact is it was a little girl against a full grown adult who is supposed to be trained to subdue people. The full grown adult needed a taser and that in iteself is pathetic.
Posted by: blarney | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 04:52 PM
There's the problem Imprtnrd, the parents will probably end up suing the dept because "How dare they use a TASER (thunder crashes as the room dims, and animals run for cover,) on my baby girl!
They'll end up making her feel like a hero for fighting the popo.

No, you're pathetic blarney, you need to find a chat-room where you and Lindsay can make cyber goo-goo eyes at each other without the two of you trying to uphold an ignorant assumption.
Sooo.... there wasn't a ROAD where she nearly pushed another child into the path of a moving car... and that ROAD wouldn't cause rash to exposed skin?
If I grab your arm in an "arm bar" and force it behind your back while you frantically attempt to keep me from doing so... your shoulder won't sprain?
And If I force your 11-year-old body onto the ground, sit on you, and pull your arms out from beneath you to handcuff you... I coudln't possibly break your wrist?

honestly i think the little girl got off lucky. she could have been trying that sh*t on another kid and gotten herself shot. should the cop have been able to do it alone? maybe. but none us will ever know. we weren't there.

"No, you're pathetic blarney, you need to find a chat-room where you and Lindsay can make cyber goo-goo eyes at each other without the two of you trying to uphold an ignorant assumption."
the only ignorant assumption is that you are a friggen moron.
"Sooo.... there wasn't a ROAD where she nearly pushed another child into the path of a moving car... and that ROAD wouldn't cause rash to exposed skin?"
Yea there was a street, who exactly was sliding around in the street? The cop or the kid? LOL! gawd people like you make me laugh.
"If I grab your arm in an "arm bar" and force it behind your back while you frantically attempt to keep me from doing so... your shoulder won't sprain?"
LOL! and that is worse than having the crap shocked out of you, losing control of your body and falling face first on the ground? LOLOLOL!
"And If I force your 11-year-old body onto the ground, sit on you, and pull your arms out from beneath you to handcuff you... I coudln't possibly break your wrist?"
Why would you do all that? are you that pathetically inept? do you think arm bars are the only way to go? Do you not think that once the arm bar was given and the person under control they wouldn't submit? Do you think the girl is going to dislocate her own shoulder? Do you have even a clue as to what you are speaking of? It sure doesn't sound like it.
Talk about pathetic.

it is the same, but debating this soooooo not even worth it. we all have different opinions and you know that's just okey dokey. that's what makes the world work. so you can subdue her your way and i'm gonna let the popo do their job.
Posted by: scott | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 05:05 PM
blarney, I'd sure rather take a five second shock than bust my face up when I fell onto the pavement... I might scar.
This would be espeically disconcerting if I was an eleven year old prima donna.
Sounds to me like you would have rushed in thinking, "oh she's eleven, I can handle this by myself, I'm a grown person." She, being obviously under some kind of distress, might have kicked your ass. Or at least scratched out your eyes.
Or, you would have went in and beat the sh*t out of her, felt like a real man because you didn't use the taser, and end up getting fired for excessive use of force.
Either way, you're still wrong.
Posted by: dfbarnes | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 05:07 PM
Just in: The Kansas City Chiefs found a new offensive guard. Although only eleven years old, Herm believes she can be a great asset because, as coach Edwards said, "She's tough. Dat's what you want from a football player. She's a football player."
Posted by: Paul | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 05:09 PM
We know that all of us could have overpowered her including the officer but that little tramp had it coming. Who tells her it's OK to hit, obviously her parents. Almost all the blame should be on the parents but DAMN I would have liked to see the look on her face when the pain was inflicted on her. HA-HA-HA I just can't stop laughing. She deserved it.
Posted by: E.P | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 05:29 PM
I agree with Blarney and Lindsay....The cop should have used the little finger technique that Crocodile Dundee did in the movie to get the kid to sit down and quietly go to jail. LOL! You gotta be kidding me, get real! Attempted murder (pushing a kid into traffic) and assault on a police officer (busting the officer's nose)...definitely sounds like this girl is mama's little angel and probably should not even have been arrested, she should have just been sit down in front of a computer and sent to CSKC so she could have an intellectual conversation with 2 wonderful posters that are fully behind her actions.....

Well, Tased...until it happens to you then shut up...I agree that this child was out of control but hey where was this deputy defensive tactic skills where she should've been able to control this 11 year old...was this 11 year old 7'2 or something...I think the deputy got mad and just wanted this little girl to feel the pain..what about the pain this little probably experiences in her personal life could be the reason why she acts out? Think about it, if it were your child would you be so quick to say Yes this was the right thing to do..were you there?
Posted by: | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 09:35 PM
If it were my child that she pushed out into oncoming traffic, I might have given her a little help off the curb herself. That might have hurt a little more than 5 seconds of shock. I know several people that have been tazed. They are all living fine normal lives. If I defended a little houligan that tried to kill another kid, assaulted teachers and a police officer, then I would not sign my post either!!!
Posted by: Jonathan | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 09:38 PM
POOR LITTLE ELEVEN YEAR OLD? I don't think so, and apparently that has become a part of her thinking. Little ole me. Her parents will be visiting her in the pen someday. Another one of those brats that is out of control, and too many of you want to offer age as an excuse. Kick her butt today, teach her respect for not only herself, but others as well. She is a little bully that apparently knows no limitations-SO teach her some, and the sooner the better!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 09:47 PM
Bunch of weeklings c'mon. It was an eleven year old girl. I hope none of you think it was okay to taze her don't have children since you couldn't handle her. LOLOLOL It was a little girl and you guys are acting like it was charles friggen manson. Get over yourselves. I'm sorr you all are so weak that you guys would reproduce and not be able to handle your problem but I guarantee that little girl would not have acted up like that if it was my girl. If you don't agree it just shows what kind of parent you will be, and I hope you don't have children so the rest of us don't have to look out for it nor raise her. you bunch of losers. Let me know when it's a child at least through puberty who might be able to put up a real fight, you loser keep coming up with excuses.
Posted by: blarney | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 10:10 PM
Wow...In this case I would have tasered the girl, then allowed a public tasering (real word?) of the parents. Ultimately, there is a saying for kids like this.
"Should've been a BJ."
Posted by: Hank_STL | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 11:33 PM
Amazing… doesn't anyone waste a few minutes every now and then watching the TV show Cops? Anyone that has, would know that even when it's only a juvenile resisting arrest... the process can be quite violent and that compliance holds really only work on the compliant and in the movies.
Posted by: Bemused | Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 11:36 PM
Eleven isn't always so little. Look around...kids are big. I was 5'7 when I was 11 and weighed 115 pounds. As much as many full grown women.
I think its odd that we put children in jail for crimes, certify 14 year olds as adults to stand trial, but to taser a child who has committed crimes and is out of control is somehow a problem.

People that continually whine about people getting tased have no foundation in knowledge in law enforcement or the Taser itself. (BTW taking a criminal justice class or watching COPS doesn't count either).
Unless you've taken the ride, you have no epreason comment on it. I have and I do.
The chances of either person being injured are substantially less with the taser. Five seconds of pain. And after that? Nothing. Life goes on as normal.
Physical control often results in some type of injury. From scrapes, broken bones to torn clothing and broken equipment that none of you armchair know-it-alls are going to pay for.
If anything, this girl was spared from potential injury and may have learned a valuable lesson in the process.
Hell, even my dog learned with an underground fence. Certainly Satan the 11 year old can too.

This kid definately deserved some kind of dicipline, but come on. Can't the big tough, cop give the little girl a bear hug and keep her under control? Cops will taser anyone or anything.

I think the parents should be tazered...if they had done their job correctly, none of us would be reading this story and the retarded comments of fast food workers.
This generation is horrible. When you take away the ability to disciplane kids (spanking their ass)they have no fear, and no respect. Sorry tree hugging libs, kids do need their ass beat from time to time. Time out only teaches them to watch the clock. Fear is a very powerful motivator.
