To clarify, Rush Limbaugh is NOT trying to start a riot

Though he did say riots during the Democratic convention in Denver would be good for the Republicans. He also sang "I'm dreaming of riots in Denver" to the tune of "White Christmas" on his show yesterday, but that's just Rush being Rush, right?

Apparently, several Denver officials are not members of the Limbaugh Nation. And it should be noted that some Democrats have promised "trouble" at the convention:

On Wednesday, Limbaugh had been discussing comments by the Rev. Al Sharpton, who had warned of "trouble" at the convention if the nomination was wrested away from Barack Obama by superdelegates.

McCain do so – principally because any criticism, however true and damaging to Sen. Obama is labeled a racist attack.

Consider the perfectly valid Anti-Obama ad currently running in South Carolina, by the state Republican Committee. Factually, it correctly and fairly associates Sen. Obama with an America hating, Marxist-oriented – by his own words, Rev. Wright (who is now retired to a $1.2M house in an all-white gated community in south Chicago).

Lost in all of noise are the actual policy positions and discussions the wiser of us will base our votes on. Energy prices are rising because of the world-wide exploding demand for oil, primarily in India and China. Compound this with what now appears to be a mistaken program of taking food crops, especially corn, off the market to make bio-fuels (which consume more energy to produce than oil). With energy and oil derivative product prices rising, as they should in a free market, we in America are caught with our pants down, with food prices rising because of bio-fuel promotion. We have a declining dollar because we have financed staggeringly large entitlement programs with dollar debt, thereby devaluing our dollar and purchasing power. We are strategically weaker because China and Arab Oil dictators hold trillions of dollar debt that, if unloaded, would destroy America without a shot being fired.

The only remedy either of the two avowed Democrat socialist candidates offer are higher taxes – making it harder for business to compete, families to save, and capital to form.

To all the Rush-haters, I encourage you to look at your checkbook or paycheck and imaging 10% -- 20% of that going away in taxes, for no doubt that is what will happen if there is a socialist majority in the Congress in ’08. And next time you attack Rush, please raise the level of debate to the specific facts or positions Rush is arguing, and give him the courtesy you demand of yourself.
