AL sheriffs feed inmates on $1.75 per day

I know food prices have gone up, but that seems pretty steep. For $1.75, you could get a bag of chips and a candy bar. Those sound very filling.

Hat Tip: Many thanks, Patty PV!

Sounds like a good deal to me. I wouldn't complain. I was in jail briefly in NC in the 70's and I got this concoction for breakfast every day that was positively delicious. When I was released to go to court I asked the nice black lady who brought the food what it was, and she replied, "It's brains and eggs." Well, icky, but hey, it was wicked good and probably didn't cost much.
