Mark Wiebe has a great profile of Katherine Cook, 5, a Linwood girl who was shot in the head while playing in her yard this winter. Leavenworth County authorities haven't found the person who did it yet. Katherine, who almost died, has made a lot of progress in recovery, though she still has problems with short-term memory and some movement. From Mark's story, she sounds like a really neat kid.
