From KCPD: The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, June 27, 2008 in the midtown part of Kansas City, Missouri. This checkpoint will be preceded with a briefing at the Agnes Police Facility, 1328 Agnes at 2300 hours.

Never mind that it is inefficient and counterproductive as law enforcement. It's politically correct and politically profitable for those who stoke our irrational fears.

Good for them - perhaps they would be better served by setting up a crack/gun checkpoint though. At least in Midtown.
