Rural Kansas, where the rivers run red with daiquiri mix
From the always excellent Sara Shepherd, Friend of Crime Scene:
When a resident called in to report Bull Creek running red east of Edgerton Wednesday night, emergency crews initially suspected a chemical spill.
But the spill, reported about 8:45 p.m. in the area of 215th Street and Waverly Road, turned out to be something more benign — about 50 pounds of virgin daiquiri.
Johnson County Sheriff’s Lt. Jay Fabert said responders traced the source of the red water to a nearby field, where a farmer told them he had dumped a large amount of drink mix. The rain apparently washed the mix into the stream.
Hazardous materials crews and trucks from Consolidated Fire District No. 2 responded to the scene. Fabert said state wildlife employees had been called in to test the water but were called off once it was determined the spill wasn’t hazardous.
Hat Tip: Thanks for the correction, LYNDA!

"...state wildlife employees had been called in to test the water but were called off once it was determined the spill wasn’t hazardous" - or intoxicating.

Why do I never seem to have a kiwi on hand when a river suddenly turns into a daquiri?

Bull Creek is located in rural Kansas - not Missouri.
