Jackson County prosecutors today accused a 23-year-old man of shooting “one of his best friends” in the head several times in a park Sunday night.
Prosecutors charged Birmingham R. White of Kansas City with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Dwight P. Gill, 30. Police found Gill’s body about 2 a.m. Monday on a picnic table at Noble Park, near 73rd Street and Indiana Avenue.
Neighbors reported hearing gunshots about 10:30 p.m. Sunday. Police found four 9 mm shell casings near the body.
