Morgue File: Have a vice day!

Jokers

From the original cutline, Jan. 6, 1973: Preparing to make the first of five arrests yesterday in Kansas City, Kansas, on obscenity charges were Vern Miller, Kansas attorney general (right), and Nick Tomasic, assistant Wyandotte County attorney.

Classy

I guess the classifieds used to be a lot more fun to read around here ...

Just in case anybody's wondering, those phone numbers in the ads aren't any good. :)

OMG - you just KNEW someone was gonna have to try them ....

hey that used to by my great aunt's number

She was great.

Question: Where are Verne Miller's hands? (He's the one the right.)

Well, it seems they really cleaned up that part of town. I like to take my doggy on late evening strolls. Often I take my shoes off and walk through manicured lawns.

Nice one, Froggie.

Verne Miller was also the Carrie Nation of his day. When KS didn't allow liqour by the drink (sitting down and ordering a single cocktail, you had to buy a bottle next door and get a "set-up" from the bar {a glass with ice and whatever mixer you chose}), he successfully stopped airplanes flying over the state from serving drinks while in KS airspace.

Let's see, two KCK public servants standing outside an adult bookstore wearing flasher coats. Glad I live in KCMO.

"two KCK public servants"

Really? KCK had its own Attorney General back in '70s? Who'da thought?

Does anyone else remember the ads for the Dove and the Old Chelsea that used to appear right on the same page as the mainstream movie listings?

I couldn't do necrophelia, personally. I think it would be "dead boring."

(Sorry, couldn't resist!)

they are probably discussing who goes oin the box first. they look like a couple of degenerates.

looks like #1 is telling # 2 what "needs to be done". It was a bad season for the mafia & anyone involved. Very lonely, ask the ex mayors how bad it was when the mafioso quit paying the way or were no longer able to. Cleaver even knows how the Kansas City Mafia worked, he obliged them any way he could. yes on Swope PKWY , NO on the urban highway, (Bruce R Watkins). Cleaver sure had a entire block around his church condemned, and then the city crews turned them into a parking lots real quick. taxpayer funds to turn this traitor into a prophet!!! I believe this has been spoken of before, 2000 years ago.
EX Mayor Cleaver is not Kansas Cities friend, he is only looking out for his own well being and profit!!!!!
