Washington DC resumes checkpoints in high-crime neighborhood
A few weeks, DC police started manning checkpoints around certain high-crime neighborhoods, as a way to keep troublemakers from coming into the area. The cops quickly discontinued the practice after no small number of complaints.

Yeaahh.. it's for the children..Well, at least they have finally found the location for the real life Escape from New York Scenario.. and to tell you the truth, if it didnt set a precedence of giving the police too much power.. I could care less. The law abiding citizens in DC have been held captive and in fear of the lives by these low lifes long enough.. Cant wait to see what happens when these citizens get their guns back.

I worked in DC back in the late 70's and I had friends in SE Washington which was pretty bad then. There are good people there as well as bad. I was leaving a friend's house & got turned around on the streets there once (I'm white) and there were a bunch of gang bangers looking for somebody -- it was pretty scary, they surrounded my car and stopped it on the street, they all had chains and crow bars and baseball bats. They looked in through the windows and when they saw I didn't have anybody else in there they just evaporated into the night, they just disappeared. I was only about 18 years old, I about peed myself. But I just kept my cool and drove away real calm. I know other people weren't so lucky, like a couple of women that worked with my dad, they got mugged outside the bank where they went to cash their paychecks. It was rare though. I have mostly positive memories of growing up in the shadow of Washington DC. People are just people -- there are good and bad wherever you go.

Wow, there are so many crimes pertaining to murder being displayed. Well, my name is Brian Irons, and I am the author of a book that explains why crimes are committed. In my book, it speaks about the crimes I committed when drug usage became a work in my life. Anyway, one day, I was getting high on drugs, and my heart stopped beating for 11 minutes. I also went into a coma and stayed in it for ten days. I suffered a brain injury, which in return, has paralyzed my leg knee down. Since drugs stopped my heart from beating for 11 minutes, they performed a crime on my body. Drugs performed a crime on my body, and almost murdered me. And I feel for those kids. It's a shame when kids expereince events such as that, and never live to see their lives unfold.
