OK, they're not actually chains. It looks like they're those plastic flex-cuffs. Tink and her pals were protesting new work contracts at Disneyland in California, saying the proposal would make it impossible for bell hops, maids and other staff to get health care. Several protesters were arrested for failing to obey police, the Daily Mail reports.

What's this world coming to?
What's next? Bert and Ernie being caught in a gay prostitution sting operation?

First Pooh Bear and now this. I'm so disillusioned...

That hippo dressed as snow white would have made a nuch better piglet. And why is the mouth gaping wide open, hoping someone will chuck in a couple twinkies.

Another case of corporate greed. The biggest, richest companies seem to always be the ones treating their employees like crap. Except the CEOs, of course.

What were they arrested FOR? I thought we had a constitutional right to assembly and free speech. Unless they were throwing things, or hurting people, I think they were entitled to protest.

Gee, glad they didn't arrest THIS Mickey Mouse! (no that's no me!)

Johnkel,
Bert and Ernie have been smart enough to keep it hidden all these years, I doubt anyone will catch them playing catch any time soon.
Ottawa Mother,
Welcome to Amerika circa 2008; the Authoritarian Era.

So I understand that they used the costumes to help drive home a point or at least to assure some media attention for their efforts...the only thing that bothers me is that they purchased those costumes right? So Disney has the rights to everything they have ever done and therefore the protesters ended up giving Disney their money to protest against the money Disney is taking away from them. I am confused on how that was a good and well thought out plan.

I hope none of those cops have elementary school aged kids, now that would make for some awkward dinner banter...

Marvin,
It's only a matter of time for B and the Big E. Times are tough all over, and they still have their bills and hight rent to pay on Sesame Street. They'll probably put out out a craigslist ad and get nabbed by Sesame Vice. Then we'll lament the loss of innocence for us all.

The top execs at Disney get free cars to use as a perk and these people get arrested for demanding a living wage. The Happiest Place on Earth, indeed.

They are free to find another job if they don't like that one. They don't have a right to be on private property if asked to leave.
Seems like these people should have used some common sense instead of acting like a bunch of spoiled little brats throwing a trantrum because they think they deserve something they don't.

JOHN: They're hotel staff members, like maids and bell hops, so they're not required to keep a perfect body image!
