What is really amazing is that the 7-11 was right across the street from the police station.

You'd be amazed the amount of crime that happens near that police station.

Hmmm.... if he was stopping a robbery, is that still a homicide?
And if so, why don't we count the number of people the police kill as homicides? ;)

Why is a self defense killing considered in the homicide count?
Posted by: Lake Bum | Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 11:35 AM
R2: Actually, under KCPD's official count, self-defense shootings -- like the 7-Eleven case -- are treated as homicides, though obviously, they're not prosecuted as murders. The same goes for police-involved shootings.

James -
Do you have a list of all 101 victims? If so could you get that to me please.

Homicide does not mean the same as murder.
Posted by: msj | Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 12:16 PM
homicide is the killing of one person by another, murder is doing it unlawfully

What do you expect for a society which rejects God and replaces it with a secular philosophy characterized by gansta' rap, 60% illegimate births, liberal judges, high taxes, burdensome welfare, single-parent homes with absent fathers, lost manufacturing jobs, and corrupted politicans, business, civic, and educational leaders??

...and James, where are those KC versus St. Louis "Homicide Challenge" statistics? We gotta make a respectable showing this year, ya know, otherwise they'll keep the Missouri Cup.
