Good morning, Mr. Abbott and fellow Costellos.

Interesting story in the Miami Herald this morning. The headlines pretty well sum it up:

Killing ends a lifetime of spouse abuse
A Miami-Dade woman who killed her first abusive husband in 1993 was murdered by her second husband this month, police say.

It's one of those weird "human interest" stories that makes you wonder what's wrong with humans.

Interesting tid-bit in yesterday's NY Times Magazine's The Ethicist column, SNIPPED here in total:

My family and I arrived at Disney World to find a crowd awaiting entry. I casually mentioned that it was a shame that one of the signature rides was down for maintenance. In fact, it was functioning, but those around me overheard my remark and began to repeat it. When the park opened, my son and I made a beeline for the ride and were able to enjoy it twice without a wait. Was my comment unethical? — PHILIP JUNKER, LITTLE ROCK, ARK.

All’s fair in love and Disney World? That is a tempting notion, but one to be rejected. If you had genuinely believed that the ride was out of order, your rumor-mongering would have been inept but not unethical. But to deliberately deceive everyone within earshot for your own advantage is, as I suspect you know, discreditable. In ethics, intent counts.

Had you engaged in this puny fraud after going on that ride, I would assume you were suffering from some sort of moral dizziness, but given the order of events, you’re merely a liar. And a cheat. A cheatin’ liar. A lyin’ cheater. Which sounds more euphonious to you? Either way, a fine title for a country-western song.

Now, think about the short-selling (especially the naked type) that helped the devastation of the stock markets over the last few weeks.

Morning Keith.

But I would have done the same thing if I thought it would work at Disney World. Any advantage I can get. LOL

Hey, the Chefs actually looked like a football team yesterday. They still have not earned the 'i'.

Good Morning.. scrolling down the threads this morning left me wondering... How did the Healther Locklear post go so bad... so quick? LOL

Actually, on the Disney thing... that stuff never workds for me.. Althought technically unethical, I find it hilarious!

Top o' the mornin' Golfer! Yes the Cheaps looked surprisingly good. They looked professional. They looked like they came to play, win or lose. They were able to exploit Denver weaknesses. I think Whitlock hit it square on the head this morning:

"The Chiefs demanded our respect Sunday afternoon, and we should grudgingly give them some and issue our own demand:

Do it again."

Searching, it's just another story with no real interest other than a familiar name. Pssst...Want to buy some horsemeat steaks?

Morning Search.

From the read, it looks like only one person was doing all the posts for the first 3 or 4 anyway.

First they take away our horse meat. Next they take away our scissors, pens & pencils so we can put somebody's eye out out if we run with them. And I'm not giving up my pens and pencils.

Then they'll outlaw harvesting webs from silk worms and take away our silk flowers! It's a slippery slope.

James,

The Star's in-depth look at the recent spate of murders in the Sunday edition was a TERRIFIC piece of work. Then I get in this morning and see it re-created very adepty in the online edition. Kudos to The Star for a job very well done, and for personalizing and exceptionalizing a subject that required BOTH.

'Repulsive' sex offender's fate in hands of jury. At Walla Walla and at Monroe, Richard Hosier was a model prisoner, an example to other sex offenders who had found their way behind bars.

But once he was released in Snohomish County, deputies arrested him, saying he gloried in using sex as a weapon against girls. He'd been dropping notes laden with sexual imagery for children to find.

Prosecutors are asking a King County jury to send Hosier, 61, to a state Department of Social and Health Services treatment center on McNeil Island, where he would remained confined until death or rehabilitation through the state "civil commitment" system.

Of the 335 sex offenders who have entered the program, only two have been fully released. A third, Gary Cherry of Mason County, is scheduled to appear in court later this year to petition for release.

I agree with G.. it caught my eye and I read it before I came on Crime Scene.

OH, and no thanks on the horsemeat... I'm full.

Aren't there medications that can all but eliminate a person's sexual desire?? Since behavioral techniques obviously do not work with these people, can't we find a biological solution?

I am not sure that sexual desire is what drives most pedophiles.. isnt it a control and anger issue.... gonna have to go out into internet world and find that study.

Jeebus! What is it with New Yorkers and their cats?
Tenants Say Dead Cats Used To Try To Evict Them. Tenants of a Brooklyn building say their landlord came up with a new idea for how to kick them out: Let the smell of the cats out of the bag.

Dead cats, that is.

The stench from the carcasses did catch the tenants' attention -- but they stayed and sued.

Good morning, everybody!

I thought it was pretty much an uncontrollable sexual urge.....many pedophiles report that they know what they are doing is wrong, and they feel terrible remorse when it's over...but they simply cannot control it when that urge resurfaces.

We've tried to behavioral techniques to teach them how to control that urge...and it just hasn't work. Let's see if maybe we can stop the urge altogether....?

Good morning.

Good morning, James.

CHARGES DROPPED VS. VET 'BEATEN' BY COPS! Criminal charges have been quietly dropped against an Iraq War veteran who said cops beat him while he was handcuffed - the second time in recent weeks that an alleged police-brutality victim had the rap against him dismissed.

Army veteran Walter Harvin, 28, had been charged with assault and resisting arrest after a July run-in with cops in the elevator of a Manhattan apartment building where his mother lives.

The dismissal of his case comes three weeks after officials dropped attempted-assault, resisting-arrest and disorderly conduct charges against a cyclist who was viciously knocked off his bike by a cop during a Times Square protest.

Morning all!

Happy monday and hopefully it's a great week for everyone!

Man wanted for beating fridge, poking wife in the eyes and choking her. I'm not sure if he's Larry, Curly, or Moe.

How was your weekend James?

Did you enjoy the debates much?

In an effort to stop male pedophiles, male child molesters have the option of being chemically castrated in some states. "Chemical castration is a term used to describe treatment with a drug called Depo-Provera that, when given to men, acts on the brain to inhibit hormones that stimulate the testicles to produce testosterone" (2). Depo-Provera is a common birth control pill that containing a synthetic version of the female hormone progesterone. Advocates of chemical castration hope that injections of Depo-Provera will prevent men from molesting children.

However, some experts argue that Depo-Provera is ineffective and will not prevent molestation. Forced castration may have the adverse affect of angering a criminal, increasing his violent tendencies and lead to additional sexual abuse (2).

Regardless, Depo-Provera has been proven to inhibit the abilities of pedophilias to assault children. The progesterone in Depo-Provera counteracts the biological tendencies that lead men to rape children (4). By lowering testosterone, Depo-Provera reduces sex drive (6).

Hmmmm.. Wachovia was the next bank that was going to fail.... But Citigroup jumps in and buys them.

hey, if I thought it would work.. I would drug them.

I thought the debates were OK. I watched part of them, listened to part of them from the next room.

McCain nearly put me to sleep... and it had nothing to do with the constant stream of beer I was sucking down either.

Wachovia announced they were putting themselves up for auction 2 weeks ago and citigroup jumped in, in less than 15min no less and announced they were interested.
This move from Wachovia was sparked by their stocks dropping to $2 plus change each.

I was in a Doctor's office waiting room when this was going on .

Police nab wobbly woman, charge her in Tampa burglary. Police said this thief was too wobbly on her feet to make a clean getaway.

Tampa police said that when they found Rebecca Martin on the ground outside 8110 N Edison Ave. about 2 a.m. today, she had fallen off a bike and appeared to be too drunk to ride it. Fishing gear and a basket also were on the ground, police said.

Sadly, no mugshot.

That would be why this is the first I heard of it, as I was comfortably in Mexico 2 weeks ago. :)

OK.. now your just braggin.

James i think i have asked you this before but when do they usualy post the new obits?

Grisly details of A&M student's death will emerge at trial. Police believe woman's body was dismembered, burned on grills.

Shepherd could face life in prison if convicted of killing his former girlfriend, Tynesha Stewart. Investigators believe Shepherd choked the Texas A&M engineering major to death, dismembered her body and burned her remains on two barbecue pits on the patio of his apartment over the course of two days.

Geez.. didnt the neighbors smell it?

Sexy: I'm not sure. Is there a particular person you're looking for? Feel free to email me, and I'll try to look in our internal system, too.

I guess it smelled like the rest of his cooking.

How's you like to meet this guy in a dark woods?

Escaped Murderer Captured In Woods

A convicted murderer who broke out of a southeast Texas prison in the days before Hurricane Ike has been captured, KPRC Local 2 reported Monday.

Texas Department of Criminal Justice officials said Marlow Wayne Reynolds, 54, escaped from the Stringfellow Unit in Brazoria County on Sept. 9 by climbing a fence at a prison recreation yard.

He was arrested in a wooded area near the San Bernard River in Brazoria County at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. He will face felony escape charges.

Morning Sexy!

Hows you? *Hugs*

And searching, I may be bragging, but wouldn't you? ;)

When Goths attack...
White-makeup covered robbers get cash from sandwich shop. It began as a woman "wearing an extreme amount of white make-up" entered the business. Witnesses also told police that she "looked very pale, like death."

The woman pulled out a pistol and ordered workers to open the cash register and unlock the back door "where a man wearing white make-up was waiting," Henderson said.

"Once inside the store the man rummaged through the register scooping up all the cash he could get his hands on," Henderson said.

Morning James.

Cops don't like hugs. Especially when you are drunk and he tells you to get back.

I did R2.. remember when I won the trip to Cancun last year.. I believe I even emailed with the heading Good Morning Suckers, from Cancun...LOL

haha... Yea, I remember that one Searching. :) I may not have won tickets for my trip, but it was lots of fun. :)

Good morning, R2D2, Jungle Jim, G, James and last but never least *sexy* (I hope I got everybody).

Howdy, Golfer!

Say, do we have a head count on the get-together tomorrow evening?

Thanks to all the Donko fans that bought tickets to Arrowhead so we could watch at home.

Here's your "present"...
Cab driver accused of assaulting rider. A Denver taxi driver is accused of sexually assaulting a woman he gave a ride to after she had been drinking with friends for her 21st birthday.

The woman told police she passed out at her home Sept. 6 and when she awoke McCracken was on top of her. She says McCracken left her a credit card receipt charging her for the ride and to clean up his cab because she vomited in it.

IM good. Well besides the fact that my Cowboys LOST BY TWO POINTS!

Sand, sun, bathing suits and margaritas.. are ALWAYS a good combination.

Trial news, Philly style...
Jury Selection Underway In Fort Dix Plot Trial. Jury selection is scheduled to begin Monday in the trial of five men accused of plotting an attack on soldiers on a New Jersey military base.

The arrests seemed like a startling wake-up call to America: Federal authorities said a group of would-be terrorists were foiled in a plot to sneak onto a New Jersey military base and kill soldiers.

The federal government argues that the May 2007 arrests of Serdar Tatar, Mohamad Ibrahim Shnewer and the brothers Dritan, Eljvir and Shain Duka saved innocent lives. Defense lawyers contend there was no plot and that the government paid an informant to get them to discuss one.

Bucks Co. Woman Heads To Trial For Sex Sleepover. A Bucks County woman is scheduled to go to trial on charges stemming from a sexual sleepover involving teens.

Angela Honeycutt, 38, is facing charges of statutory sexual assault after allegedly engaging in sex acts with two teenage boys during a party in April at a friend's Upper Makefield home.
