It happens during every campaign season, it seems, and now one of our regular bloggers, jeano, has seen her political yard sign get stolen, along with an American flag. (She had an Obama sign, though it's important to note that BOTH sides have seen this happen.)
In jeano's case, the dirtbags took it a step further:
I guess I am naive but I really didn't think people in this area would stoop to the same disgusting behavior as in the rest of the country. My Obama for president yard sign was stolen from my yard along with a small American flag I had beside it.
No biggie, I guess. Not worth a lot of money. They did, however, include a letter in my mailbox that said, "We endorse Obama for President - Barack H. Obama - Thank you for your vote." At the top were pictures of swastikas and a header that read National Socialist Movement with an P.O. box and Detroit address as well as an email address.
I looked at the website and it was disgusting. Skinheads and bigots! I am thinking teenagers or some maladjusted adults did this trying to be clever. I hope they were not a part of this group!!! Still, it is a sad indication of the hate and feeling of entitlement this country's white people seem to have for just about anyone anymore who isn't like them. It's depressing...

Let me preface this by saying I am not an Obama supporter (I am an undecided cynic leaning towards McCain), but this is totally unacceptable. This does happen on both sides and I don't even think the people doing it realize how evil this is. I think the lovely letter they put in your mailbox shows the putrid act that this is.
When you steal a yard sign from anyone, regardless of political affiliation, YOU ARE TRYING TO TAKE AWAY THEIR FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT. This is the most unpatriotic act a person can get away with in my opinion. I really wish the laws against this were enforced more and a few examples were made. The best thing to do Jeano, is to put up a bigger sign. Wish you luck in the future

Take the sign and separate the two metal rods on either side that hold it to the ground. Isolate them from ground. hook the two leads up to 110VAC. I would put a video camera up also because it would be an instant 5 star on youtube.

Obama can't prove his citizenship. Where is his birth certificate? He was not a US citizen, when he left Hawaii. He is kick in the law, with background help and you support this person?
