Larry Johnson faces accusation of simple assault

Johnson

From Mark Morris:

Johnson faces a December date in Kansas City Municipal Court on a charge of simple assault. The municipal violation, filed early last month, stemmed from an incident on Feb. 24, 2008, in which a 26-year-old woman accused Johnson, 28, of using his open hand to push the left side of her head, according to court and police documents obtained by The Kansas City Star.

From Johnson's lawyer:

Johnson’s lawyer, Kevin E.J. Regan, said Monday that his client had done nothing inappropriate and expects to be vindicated at trial.

Regan said an intoxicated woman did throw herself at Johnson that night but was restrained by security. He said his investigation also shows she did not make any complaints to the management, security officers or police, who were at the club that night. And even after she reported the incident to police 11 hours later, police observed no injuries, Regan said.

Because LJ isn't capable of anything above "simple".

She is looking for a pay day. Proabably because LJ passed on her.

I am not a fan of LJ...but this is crap. She was drunk..threw herself at him. Even if he did "push" her with his open hand, he has a right to get her away from him...I don't care if she is a woman. If one person invades the space of another and doesn't back up after being asked...you better be ready to face the consequences. Counter sue this money hungry drunk sl*t.

Too bad he cant "push" his way thru the defense.

11 hours later....
Long enough to be bragging to her girlfriends that then suggested a payday...

if it was joe blow normal guy she wouldn't went to the security guard or the cops.

If Larry Johnson was a normal guy she wouldn't have reported it.

Awww, hell, that ho don' know how lucky she be! She mess with The Juice, she gets the pulp, if you knows what I mean!

I heard that the accuser just released a statement.

Nawww....

But really, I think I've heard this song before. Isn't this Chopin's "Prelude in C(ash) Major"

If LJ wins, he should counter file for legal fees and court costs and tell the attorney "sic 'em".

It is unfortunate that prosecutors now have to file every crappy case that comes down the road or risk criticism for blowing off trivial stuff like this. We have sacrificed good sense and prosecutorial judgment to political correctness.

Any bruises? Other than an ego? He's a big guy. If he'd push me hard, I'd bruise.

No complaints to the OFFICERS AT THE SCENE? Maybe they would have been able to gauge her condition.

For this we have to pay cops & judges?

Hi, I'm a 300lb football player who hits on women and give me have a CHANCE AND I'LL RAP ON YOUR KID AS WELL!

The entitlement estrogen express has "launched" - woe be unto them who fail to heed it's path!

I hope he's guilty.

I doubt he is found guilty. But if he his, perhaps he will be suspended. Then the Chiefs can release him and recoup a portion of his most recent signing bonus citing a violation of his contract terms. I don't doubt that he can be successful in the NFL again but nobody likes having a cancer on the team. No wonder the Chiefs couldn't get any trade bites.

She didn't even know who he was until someone told her... I guess that's when she decided to raise a stink about it!!

Say he pushed her head?

Just as he does not know how to score TDs anymore, he wouldn't know low profile if it bit him on the ass. You want attention, LJ, you got it.
