Man threatened coworkers after firing, prosecutor says

Elling1

From Platte County Prosecutor Eric Zahnd: A Platte County employee has admitted making threats against his former co-workers and their families.  Joshua T. Ellington, 26, of Shawnee Mission, KS pled guilty October 28 to harassment in Platte County Associate Circuit Court.

... Ellington was released from his job with the Platte County Collector’s Office on October 7.  Following his termination, Ellington spoke with a former co-worker about his belief of a conspiracy against him.

Ellington made a reference to another former co-worker and threatened to harm her grandchild. Ellington admitted to detectives that he made threats to harm a child.  He also admitted to stating he would push a co-worker down the stairs to cause injury to her.

Judge Gary Witt sentenced Ellington to two years probation and after he completed 20 days in the Platte County Jail.  As a special condition of his probation, Ellington must obtain a psychological evaluation and follow treatment recommendations as made by the psychologist.
