Warrants issued in Lee's Summit pursuit, crash

From Lee's Summit PD: On 10-09-08 four warrants were issued for the driver of a fleeing vehicle involved in a crash September 14th at 10:30 p.m. in Lee’s Summit. The subject was being pursued by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department when the crash occurred at SW 3rd Street and Murray road. The subjects’ vehicle struck another vehicle at the intersection after running a stop sign at what a witness estimated was faster than twice the legal speed limit. In the crash the driver of the second vehicle, a 21 year old female Lee’s Summit resident, was severely injured and is still recovering.

            

Warrants were issued for 27 year old Dustin J. Fruits, of Lee’s Summit, for the following; Assault 2nd Degree (C felony), Resisting Arrest (D felony), Driving While Revoked (A misdemeanor), and Careless and Imprudent Driving (B misdemeanor) with a $4,000 total bond.
