So much to love about this story. For one thing, the police were selling the 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass WITHOUT KEYS. Good news? A dude who got shot in the car went to the auction and sold them to the teenager for $40. Of course, then police showed up a few days later, asking for the car back. Oh, and did she happen to keep the blood-stained bandanna, gloves and other evidence that came with the car?

Maybe they were just thinking like the ATF: Always Think Forfeiture. In their rush to get paid, they forgot about the whole criminal investigation part.

If they ever bring this murder case to trial, the defense atty will have a field day - tainted evidence, broken chain of custody.
