2 arrested in connection with Leawood carjacking

From Brad Cooper:

Police have arrested two Kansas City men in connection with a Leawood carjacking early this morning.

They are suspected of stealing the car of a woman who was leaving the Cactus Grill restaurant at 119th Street and Roe Avenue just before 1 a.m. They allegedly pulled up behind the woman’s car and blocked her from leaving, police said. One man allegedly forced the woman out at gunpoint and then took her car. She was not hurt.

The two vehicles left the scene heading north on Roe. Police responding to the call saw two cars heading north on nearby Tomahawk Creek Parkway. Within a couple minutes of the incident, officers pulled over each of the cars and arrested both drivers.

Glad to see that the dirtbags got caught! Hopefully they are already felons so they get a few extra years in prison. Not like they were going to go out and get jobs anyway!

Nice work coppers. Apparently, Leawood cops are actually out patrolling for this sort of thing.

Actually, it sounds like they were dispatched to the call and were near the area. Good job by them, though.

It amazes me that criminals would attempt such a crime in a suburb where the crime rate is so low and the cops correspondingly have so much more opportunity to capture you.
Its like walking into a police convention to try to mug someone.

Maybe he should have called in a robbery after he got in the car.. I have that on my list of possibly working.

The Yuppieviller's better be more on the look out. This is what the third one in the area, in what 6-12 months or so?

And yet another reason I am starting my CCW classes in a few weeks. Watch out, thugs, this little redhead is going to be protected by H&K. And yes, I have previous firearms experience, so you can skip the "JoCo soccermom" comments. (913) and JO doesn't always equal life-time suburbanite.
