Horse-mounted police this morning searched a wooded area in northeast Kansas City as part of their ongoing investigation of a missing 35-year-old Northland mother of three.
No one has seen Renee M. Pernice of Kansas City, North, since Friday. The woman’s father, Rick Pretz, and police speculate that foul play was involved in the woman’s disappearance.
On Thursday, the Missouri Search and Research canine unit searched for evidence along Cliff Drive and were joined by police on ATVs. Family members were present as officers on foot and a police helicopter also were used in the search, said Capt. Rich Lockhart of the Kansas City Police Department.
... No arrests have been made, and no suspects were in custody, Lockhart said.
Police are seeking the public’s help in locating Pernice, described as about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and slender with blue eyes and shoulder-length brunette hair.

I was thinking this morning that since they found her cell there, need to check along there. That is a pretty steep hill from Cliff Drive down to the NE Bottoms though.
Part of my drive to/from work is along the back roads there. And an old family friend use to live on Gladstone Blvd.

Have the police searched his house??? They need to search the house and his vehicle. I guarantee they will find something. He is guilty as sin. Hope he rots in hell.

What happened to innocent until proven guilty. I agree that things do not look good and that the husband is a suspect but I sure hope nobody ever rushes to judgement if my husband were to come up missing. We have had our problems in the past as well. To date that is all that people are using to jump to his guilt. I think everyone should wait until more information is available before making harsh statement like let him rot in hell. Remember Polly Klaus' father.......the poor man lost his daughter and was demonized before they found the real killer, and the Colorado mother died of ovarian cancer with a shadow of guilt over the death of her daughter, later to have the police say that there is no way that the family was involved in the death. Let's show some patience until we know the facts.

Actually, the correct details are that the police had a search warrant and they went in the house.

That isnt what the story said. They were asked to leave when he showed up .

Saturday the family went in the house with keys (with police) when Shon wasn't home. He returned with attorneys and they were asked to leave.
Today the police had a search warrant and searched the house. Shon was there when they arrived but left in his car.

Shon was home when the police arrived today with the search warrant. His kids were at school and we was allowed to go pick them up. The 5pm news didn't reveal much other than the police were still in the house searching.
I thought he initially stated he saw her Friday morning when she was letting out the dogs.

It seems like the cell phone was dropped there to distract the police or to try to throw them off.

All very interesting. Land of the free speech and home of the brave vet's that sustain trauma in the war on terror. There is a lot of mudslinging on here which is part of free speech. What evidence is there? Specualtion has proven to be wrong in multiple crime cases, especially with KCPD. Look at its' history on many cases and lawsuits. But, a mother is missing. A citizen of the community. Refrain from the 1600 witch hunts and figure this out with respect for the family, and due regaurd for the legal process. I believe that the death penalty should be required for extreme crimes, but "rot in hell" may be premature to the facts and cloud an investigation into what could actually be going on. Be educated and be adults.

Probably have already done so but the cell phone should be checked for evidence that it skidded on the sidewalk or was dropped. If it skidded it may have been thrown from a vehicle. If thrown she may have been snatched by someone other than the family for what ever purpose a snatcher has.
