Listed below are links to weblogs that reference UPDATE: KS mayor accused of shooting 2 dogs:

Comments

If they were chasing kids, they should've been locked up by animal control, not shot.

If they were tied up, then not only should they *not* have been shot, it is also the case that this mayor is pretty subhuman. Anyone tried that crap with my dog, I'd let her off leash after the bastard. Let's see how well he shoots with his gun arm torn up.

I'm just surprised that they are actually prosecuting for this. It's an actual crime. The perp actually did harm.

Just the simple fact that he discharged a weapon in the city limits around houses and citizens, is a crime. He's no better than the average citizen who commits this type of crime. The mayor should know better and he should know how to handle dogs that the community complains about. 5 or 6 shots??? Now that's a little excessive. What if one of them lil brats that started taunting the dogs came running out of nowhere and he shot one of them???? Mr Mayor you should have made better decisions than to try to take the law into your own hands. You are not excluded from following the LAW! Dog owner, you should make sure that your animals are put up when you are away from the home. My dog got out once while I was at work, that was the end of his being independent until I returned. He wasn't happy about being indoors while I was gone but I'm sure he would not like the other option if he got out again and neither would I. If you know your animals can escape put them up until you have time to supervise them.
