Tony Rizzo has a story about local cops and feds partnering to catch alleged pedophiles. They reportedly posed as pimps and posted ads on Craigslist. I'm trying to track down the affidavits on PACER, but haven't had much luck yet. (Might be because the latest batch are still indicted, not charged.) Here's a sampling from Tony's report:
Childers, who was wearing part of his Navy uniform, was arrested Thursday after he arrived at undercover residence in Kansas City. He allegedly had arranged to have sex with the 11-year-old girl for $80.
After his arrest, he told police that he intended to “save the girl” and get her out of the house, but then admitted that he had intended to have sex with her, according to the court documents.
Cockrell allegedly agreed to pay $60 for 30 minutes with the 15-year-old and said he would pay an additional $20 if he didn’t use a condom.

Can't wait for the first space cadet to jump in and scream entrapment.

Channel 41 is reporting that Childers used his computer at the Naval Recruiting Station to set up the meet.

I think adult prostitution should be legal. I also have a little sympathy for guys who get busted for stat. rape, but really legitimately believed that the person was of age.
Guys (or gals) who intentionally go out seeking to have sex with children deserve all the bad things that happen to them.

I wonder what part of his navy uniform he was wearing and if he was wearing nothing else. I'm thinking the white dog bowl hat and scarf and nothing else.

That was my first question, D-Man. I was thinking his Navy pea coat.

While I definitely believe that children should be protected from this, I still have a big problem with the entrapment element of this effort. There actually were no children involved here. This was a hoax to trap the men.
What else are they going to entrap us over next? This effort was developed by Cynthia Cordes in the US attorney's office. Ms. Cordes, will authorities now being posting an ad for young boys available to adult women? Likely not. Fair is fair I guess unless your a man-hater working in the US attorneys office.
I dont think child prostitution is very common despite the feds claims of it being a "huge problem". Go out and look at Craiglist...you wont find any such ads for "young girls"....except this one created by the feds. The feds were way off about the estimated trafficking numbers anyway. We already know that.

Drew, you can call all the names in advance you want. It still was entrapment. There were actually no children involved in this case.

Perhaps it is a "space cadet" who thinkgs first by hysterics and does not acknowledge plain facts. If you look at the main KC Star article, I am not the only one worried about the slippery slope of police entrapments.
Old Bill O'Rielly hypocritically says he is "not a slippery slope guy", but throughout his broadcast, he is constantly worried about one bad precedent leading to another. He is really only worried about it in instances where he has his judgements that conflict.
For example, Bill thinks gay marraige will lead to people marrying thier dogs. That is the definition of a slippery slope example.

Jeezuz, dum-dum baby. Did you think they would use kids? No further.
There were kids involved in the minds of the offenders. Thus, the intent to have sex with a minor, punishable under federal law. Strike two.
Bill O'Reilly is irrelevant, since you want to focus the scope of this "conversation" on this particular case. Strike three, but I'll give a freebie.
Do you also really think you'll find child prostitution rings advertising openly on Craigslist? Out.
FYI, GP: Entrapment occurs when a government agent induces someone to engage in behavior that he was not already predisposed to engaging in. By the overwhelming weight of the evidence, these dingdongs were predisposed to having sex with minors. They just needed the opportunity.

Why not pose as a customer, save the girl and arrest the pimp? ? They are the ones who are enslaving the young girls and should be punished severely.

why do any of you care how they were caught?! these are the nastiest scum human beings that need to be "taken off the streets" whether by entrapment or the real deal. if a pedifile lived next door to you and your 5 year old--and they were caught by entrapment, i bet you wouldn't be complaining then. absolutely ridiculous logic flying around in kansas city.
