And if so, what charges should they face? The Butler County sheriff isn't saying what counts exactly, but he does think they have a strong enough case for prosecutors to go after Herrman's adoptive parents. The case is now in the DA's hands.
For those arriving late, Herrman is a Kansas boy who disappeared 10 years ago in Towanda, Kan. -- but was only REPORTED missing a few months ago. Authorities have searched the trailer park where he used to live and the surrounding area, but have found no physical evidence. His relatives, though, say they believe his adoptive parents are responsible.

At the very least he should be charged with fraud for receiving subsidy checks while no longer caring for the boy.
If they have additional evidence that their was foul play involved with the boy's disappearance, then those charges shoulsd be filed as well.
For now, it seems just as likely that the kid ran away.

Don't know if the kid ran away, I doubt it. My question is, did they ever check to see why the kid was running away in the first place? This is called Karma...
