Security guard opens fire on shoplifting suspect, police say

From Tony Rizzo: A security guard fired shots at a shoplifting suspect’s vehicle Tuesday night after it struck the guard’s car outside a central Kansas City business.

Kansas City police said the suspect’s car later was found abandoned a few blocks away.

The incident occurred about 6:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 3100 block of Prospect Avenue. The guard was not injured and police don’t know if the suspect was wounded.
