From The Star: A man was critically injured early Saturday when he jumped off a bridge on to Interstate 70 while trying to evade police.
Kansas City police said the man appeared to have been trying to avoid a DUI checkpoint at the corner of Sixth Street and Prospect Avenue when he turned around his pickup truck and fled.
A brief chase ensued before the man crashed his vehicle into a barrier on Charlotte Street and evaded police on foot before jumping off a bridge onto I-70.
