Mission PD says it caught the guy who slashed officers' tires

And then called police HQ to report the slashings! The suspect is Jesse Sellers, 19, an Overland Park resident. He's been charged with criminal damage to property. He'd apparently gotten pulled over for traffic violations before the vandalism.

Apparently the previous description we gave them worked out.

He didn't have big Cajones', he was just an idiot. If he would have taunted them and got away then it would be another story.

I still want to know HOW they caught him. I am interested in how much time and effort they expended tracking this guy down in comparison to what they would have done if it had been MY tires that got slashed.

It probably took no time at all. His call was might have gone something like: "Take that you buncha SOBs! I just slashed the tires on 4 of your cars! That'll teach you to give me tickets for speeding, no insurance and not wearing a seatbelt at I-35 & 87th Street on May 21st at 10:52PM!"

They probably check records of people whom they had stopped that day for traffic violations, maybe let the officers listen to the tape to try to recall the voice. maybe they only stopped on teenage boy that day...making the guy easy to identify.

There you go again JJ. :) LOL Got my laugh for the day, I can go back to work now.

cdub, the difference is that when your tires get slashed, it isn't an emergency vehicle that is put out of commission. Further, the police cars are paid for by the government, and the department really is accountable to all the taxpayers, because it's essentially their (the taxpayers') property which was damaged.

Yet, it's the taxpayers who when our tires get slashed it's too bad. Fact is cops don't give two poops unless it affects them.
