Dear Lord, please put me on this jury

I don't live in Texas, so my chances aren't great, but I think this case would be interesting to hear. In Corpus Christi, the Cheetah Club -- which, you've probably surmised, is a strip club -- is suing a seventh-grader, age 14. She allegedly fooled them into thinking she was old enough to work as a stripper, which caused them to break the law.

This is a remarkably different interpretation from the one held by police. Snip:

Police say Leslie Campbell, 48, kidnapped the teenager in San Antonio in March, took her to Corpus Christi, sexually assaulted her over the course of a week, gave her a false identification card and forced her to strip at the club.

Kinda of a remarkable story the teen is telling.. it's like it was out of a movie...

I call shenanigans. She was busted and now has some splaining to do at home.

Here is my question, did the parents ever file a missing persons report?

"I’ve seen this young lady’s picture, and I assure you she is a 14-year-old seventh-grader," according to Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Sgt. John Mann.

Maybe Sgt. Mann can look at this picture and tell me the age of the subject.

I'm calling beeeeeeeeeeeee essssssssss

Keith, did you see this ad for the NY times at the bottom of the story?

WTH?

Keith, your link went to a story about a book written by Gloria Vanderbuilt.

I never knew that Anderson Cooper was a Vanderbilt. The things you learn...

Yes, Golfer. I was trying to note the picture of Gloria with the story. With a little makeup, she doesn't look 85.

Searching, that's Sacha Baron Cohen, aka Bruno and Borat.

I think it is funny...

Did the parents file a missing person report?
Was the owner sleeping with the girl?
How long was the girl missing?

Alot of question in this story. It sounds like they all knew they where in the wrong (from the parents to the club owner). Who knows would be an interesting case to follow.

I'm in love with Gloria Vanderbuilt!

Technically, minors can't be sued - her parents/legal guardians would have to be sued on her behalf.

Daughter doesn't sound too bright... my son is going into 7th grade and is 12.
There's more to this story that will be an interesting read.

Good thing A-rod doesn't live in TX anymore.

A simple lap dance can determine my verdict.

The girl was reported missing, but she had a history of running away, so the police didn't issue an amber alert. The trafficking of young girls is a lot more ncommon that the media recognizes. I just hope the victim receives help for the ordeal she's been through.

"With a little makeup, she doesn't look 85."

Yeah that and a boat load of money to pay for the plastique.
